MNIT Jaipur Admissions

Admissions to the university are done majorly based on the candidate’s performance in the required entrance exams. Some accepted exams are JEE Mains, GATE, JAM, GMAT, CAT, MAT and more.

How to apply?

  • Register himself for relevant exams e.g.JEE Mains/ GATE/JAM/CAT and undertake the exam.
  • Score the minimum cut-off marks required for admission in NITs (It varies year to year)
  • After scoring good marks in the examination, a candidate is required to register himself on the website of the relevant seat allocation authority – Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA for B. Tech) or CCMAT(Centralised Counselling for M. Tech) or CCMN (for M.Sc)
  • The candidate is then required to fill his choice of NITs and course streams on the website.
  • According to the score obtained by him and the cut-off criteria of several NITs, he would be allocated some colleges among the list of colleges he chose.
  • The candidate can then choose any one college among the list of allocated colleges. To do so he has to pay ‘seat confirmation’ fees to fix his enrollment in the college.
  • If he is allocated MNIT Jaipur or any other NIT, he just has to report to the college for fee submission and document verification.

MNIT Jaipur FAQs

Ques. For how many scholarships can a student apply for, while studying in MNIT?

Ans. If the student is already receiving one scholarship – None. If the student is not receiving any scholarship, he can apply for as many as he is eligible for but would receive support under any one of them. His applications to all other scholarships would automatically be rejected.

Ques. Are students accepted in an MTech/PhD sponsorship course, eligible for scholarships and/or monthly stipend from MNIT?

Ans. No. Only students admitted through GATE and NET scores are eligible for these provisions. Students admitted through other admission processes cannot avail of any of this assistance.

Ques. Under what conditions can the stipend/scholarship of a PhD. or MTech student be discontinued?

Ans. For MTech – A student scoring less than 6.0 CGPA in any semester would be denied any financial assistance from the institute.

For PhD: Same applies to a student scoring below 7.0 CGPA

Ques. Is lateral entry for Diploma holders/BSc students in the BTech course permitted?

Ans. No. Any Diploma holder/B. Sc student has to complete the first year of B. Tech upon admission. Also, he would not be given any preference on the account of his Diploma/ B. Sc Degree during the admission process.

Ques. After completing one year of BTech can a student switch from one stream to another e.g., can a student switch to Mechanical Engineering from Civil Engineering?

Ans. No, a student can choose his preference during the admission process but after admission, he/she would not be able to switch streams, especially not after completing one year in a stream.
