The internship opportunity here is really good. They admit students on merit base and also students should have six paper Psychology in the graduation to get admission here. The cut off usually is around 70-75 percentage.
The faculty members are highly qualified with NET JRF and the Dean has high qualification. The teaching method is good they provide all the notes and ppts which is used during the class for studies. There are 4 semesters in the whole masters program and the difficulty level is high.
Yes for semester 2 we had to start internship as our curriculum which was of 120 hours and completed my internship from Devanchan school for special kids charni road. For MA PART 2 the university itself place us to different internship they have tie ups with red boys foundation, airport high school, Disha counselling Centre where we have to observe counselling sessions and when trained we can take up our own clients for one on one session. The internship of MA second year lasts for 9 months.
Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.
Masters program is of two years and fees differs for each specialization for counselling specialization it is 38000. The College provides reservation for st/sc category and they pay around 10000. There is also scholarship available from the department for students who belongs to lower economic background.
Library is good, they provide research gates to us and we have access to the wifi service as well. But there's no social life as such on the campus as the campus itself is quite small. Students do run instagram account of the department and have Psychology festival every year on December which is quite fun. All the students engages in it for a whole week. We do arts and crafts put up our own stalls play games related to psychology.
