The authority has opened the JEE Main 2022 Form Correction Window for Phase 2 from 1 to 3 July 2022. Candidates have to pay an additional application fee through Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI and PAYTM. NTA will also re-open the online application forms for JEE Main 2022 Phase 2 after the declaration of JEE Main 2022 Result for Phase 1. JEE Main 2022 Phase 2 will be conducted from 21 to 30 July 2022. 

NTA has successfully concluded the JEE Main 2022 Phase 1 exam from 23 to 29 June 2022. JEE Main Paper Analysis for all shifts is available along with the memory-based question paper. JEE Main Phase 1 was reported moderate with the mathematics section lengthy and toughest. JEE Main Answer Key will be released soon by the authorities. JEE Main 2022 result for phase 1 is expected to be announced in the 2nd week of July 2022. JEE Main 2022 cut off is expected to be 87.89 percentile for the unreserved category.

JEE Main 2022 Registration for Phase 2 has been closed on 30 June 2022. 

  • Candidates who passed class 12th in 2020, 2021 or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age are eligible for JEE Main 2022. Check JEE Main Eligibility Criteria
  • JEE Main 2022 Syllabus comprises topics from Class 11th and 12th NCERT books. No changes have been made to the syllabus this year.
  • JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern has been revised, this year there will be negative marking for both MCQs and numerical value questions.
  • Aspirants can appear for both sessions while the best percentile will be considered for admission.
  • Candidates must qualify the JEE Main Cut off to get admission into NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs and to be eligible for JEE Advanced.

What is JEE Main 2022?

JEE Main Exam is conducted for B.E/B. Tech admission in 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 19 GFTIs. Candidates seeking admission into IITs have to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. Only the top 2.5 Lakhs JEE Main qualified candidates can appear for JEE Advanced. JEE Main Paper 1 held for admission into B.E/B. Tech courses while Paper 2 is held for B.Arch and B.Plan courses respectively. The exam is conducted Online mode in 13 languages across India and abroad.

What’s New JEE Main 2022

There have been some changes by the Nation Testing Agency in JEE Main 2022 which are mentioned below:

  • Mandatory fields added in JEE Main Application Form:- In JEE Main Application form 2022, the annual family income has been a mandatory field.
  • Revised Marking Scheme for JEE Main 2022:- JEE Main 2022 has revised the marking scheme. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer of MCQs and numerical value answers.
  • Decrease in the number of sessions for JEE Main 2022:- JEE Main 2022 examination will be conducted only two times in June and July instead of four times.
  • In JEE Main 2022, for Persons with Disability candidates, the scribe will be provided by the NTA.
  • Increase in exam centres for JEE Main 2022:- NTA has increased the exam centers to 501 cities in India and 25 abroad for JEE Main 2022.
  • JEE Main examination to be conducted in 13 languages:- NTA has decided JEE Main 2022 examination will be conducted in thirteen languages including English, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Urdu, and Marathi.
  • 75 % marks criteria removed:- The authority has removed the minimum criteria of 75 % in class 12 marks to be eligible.

JEE Main 2022 Application Form

JEE Main 2022 Phase 2 application process has been started. The last date to register for phase 1 is 30 June 2022. JEE Main 2022 Application form for Phase 2 will be released on the official website by the NTA. The application process for JEE Main 2022 will be completely online. No other method of application will be accepted by the conducting authority.

How to fill out JEE Main 2022 Application Form?

The candidates must follow the instructions carefully before applying for JEE Main 2022. The procedure to apply for the application form of JEE Main is given below:

  • Step 1: The aspirants need to visit the official website JEE Main i.e., https://jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Step 2: Then the next step is to look for JEE Main notification under “Admission Application Form” on the home page of JEE Main.
  • Step 3: JEE Main registration page will open up on the new screen. The candidate has to register by filling in the email id, mobile number, and password on JEE Main registration page.
  • Step 4: After that, the applicants have to go for the "Apply for JEE Main Exam 2022” where you need to enter the basic details, annual family income, and the remaining information such as Education Qualification, Category, etc to complete the form fill-up of JEE Main 2022 entrance examination.
  • Step 5: Later, the candidate is required to identify themselves by uploading their scanned photographs and signature, and other required documents.
  • Step 6: Once you have checked all the details that you entered, click on submit button. You will be redirected to an online payment portal to pay the fees of JEE Main examination. The aspirants can pay for the registration process of JEE Main through Debit Card, Credit Card, and Net-Banking or by using Bank E-Challan.
  • Step 7: The final step is to pay JEE Main application fee, and once you are done with your payment successfully, you can download the application form of JEE Main for future reference. The candidate will receive a confirmation mail of successful registration of JEE Main on the registered email id.

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The conducting authority has set certain criteria for the aspirants to be eligible to apply for JEE Main 2022 examination. JEE Main 2022 eligibility criteria is mentioned below:

Age Criterion

  • The candidates who are born on or after October 1, 1997, are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2022 examination.
  • Age relaxation of five years will be provided to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe / Person with Disability candidates born on or after October 1, 1992.
  • The date of birth of the class 10th certificate will be taken into account for JEE Main 2022.

Educational Qualification

  • The candidates must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board to be eligible for JEE Main 2022.
  • The candidates must have studied Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics in 10+2 to be eligible for JEE Main entrance test.
  • The candidates who have studied three years diploma will also be applicable for JEE Main 2022.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 75 % in the class 12th to get admitted in the NITs, IITs, and GIFTs whereas the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe must have 65 %.

JEE Main 2022 Admit Card

The candidates can download their JEE Main 2022 Admit Card from the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in using their Application Number and DOB. Candidates must carry a valid ID proof along with JEE Main Admit Card at the exam centre. Applicants are required to carry the duly filled self-declaration form from the NTA website.

  • Before downloading the admit card, candidates must check all the information printed on admit card.
  • In case of any wrong information, candidates must contact the authority.

JEE Main hall ticket has important details about the examination and without it, no one is permitted to enter the examination hall.

How to download JEE Main 2022 Admit Card?

The aspirants can download JEE Main 2022 admit card for JEE Main 2022 examination by the following steps given below.

  • The candidate must visit the official website of JEE Main.
  • Find the link provided under the notice and you will be redirected to the admit card download portal of JEE Main exam.
  • The next step is to click on the admit card download and enter the login credentials that you saved during the registration process of JEE Main. 
  • After logging in the admit card for JEE Main 2022 Examination that you had applied for will be displayed on your screen.
  • Download and save a PDF copy of the admit card for JEE Main examination. The candidates must take several printouts of the admit card of JEE Main for further requirements.

JEE Main 2022 Form Correction

The aspirants will be given an extra opportunity to edit some details they filled in during JEE Main registration process. During that JEE Main 2022 correction window, the aspirants can edit, correct, or upload any necessary documents. Although there was no correction facility for JEE Main 2022 due to the concern of the students the NTA has opened the correction window form from 6 to 8 April 2022. 

The aspirants can only do the following correction in JEE Main:

  • Signature of the candidate.
  • Photograph & Signature
  • Exam city preferences of JEE Main.
  • Change of Paper1 to Paper2 or vice versa for JEE Main 2022.

How to do Form Correction JEE Main 2022?

The aspirant can correct the application form for JEE Main 2022 by following the steps given below:

  • Step 1: The candidate must visit the official website of JEE Main.
  • Step 2: The candidates have to look for the home page “Application Form Correction for JEE Main 2022” and click on it.
  • Step 3: The candidates have to enter the login credentials such as application number and password for form correction of JEE Main 2022.
  • Step 4: The window will open where the candidates will find “Manage Form Particulars Correction”. The candidates must read the instruction carefully in click on “Next” to correct JEE Main Form.
  • Step 5: The candidates can correct JEE Main form and click on “Submit” the application form of JEE Main. The candidates will have to pay an additional fee for the form correction of JEE Main 2022.

JEE Main 2022 Reservation in State Universities

JEE Main Reservation for state engineering colleges will be provided by the State Government.

Home State Quota The aspirants who have passed 10+2 from a particular state and have cracked the examination will be under the home state quota of 50 % seat reservation. These candidates will be given first preference for admission to that state as compared to applicants from other states.
Other State Quota This will comprise the candidates of JEE Main who are from other states and Union Territories, apart from the home state.

JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern

The candidates must know the JEE Main exam pattern to crack the examination with ease. The exam of JEE Main will be conducted in two phases in June and July. JEE Main 2022 examination is conducted in three parts: 

  • Paper 1- B.E/B.Tech
  • Paper 2A- B.Arch
  • Paper 2B- B. Planning

The total number of questions in each paper in JEE Main 2022 has increased as compared to the previous year. The marking pattern of JEE Main 2022 examination is given below.

  • 4 marks for each correct response and a negative marking of 1 for each incorrect MCQ.

Mock Tests give a general overview of JEE Main examination about the types of questions and difficulty pattern of the paper, etc. The aspirants must take maximum mock tests before JEE Main examination to boost their confidence. The exam pattern of JEE Main Mock Test is given below:

  • There will be 25 questions each from Physics, chemistry, and Mathematics in JEE Main Mock Test.
  • The total duration of JEE Main Mock Test is of 3 hours and the question pattern is MCQs.
  • The candidates will be given 4 marks for each correct answer and a negative marking of 1 for each wrong answer in the Mock Test. The total marks for the mock test are 300.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will release the JOSAA Cut-off 2022 in the form of opening and closing ranks. The JOSAA List will contain the rank and cut-off for admission in twenty-three IITs, Thirty-one NITS, and other applicable institutes for various academic programs.

JEE Main 2022 JOSAA Counseling Process

The steps to register for the counselling process of JOSAA are given below:

  • Step 1: The candidates have to visit the official website of JOSAA.
  • Step 2: The candidate must log in using the application number and password of JEE Main for JOSAA Counseling.

JEE Main FAQs

Ques. Is JEE Main 2022 postponed?

Ans. Yes, JEE Main 2022 is postponed for both the phases. Earlier it was scheduled to be held in April and May but the NTA revised the conduction of both the Phases in June & July respectively. The official notification announced on April 6th 2022.

Ques. What is the revised date announced by NTA for JEE Main 2022?

Ans. The NTA has revised JEE Main 2022 to June & July. Phase 1 of JEE Main Examination will be conducted from June 20 to 29, 2022, and Second Phase from July 21 to 30, 2022.

Ques. Is JEE Main 2022 Application Form for phase second released?

Ans. Yes. JEE Main Application Form for the 2nd phase has been released on 1 June 2022. Last date to fill ou the JEE Main Application Form for the second phase is 30 June 2022.

Ques. What is the examination frequency of JEE Main 2022?

Ans. The NTA has announced that JEE Main 2022 will be conducted only twice per year. Earlier, JEE Main has conducted four phases but it reduced the phase to two which are scheduled to be held in June & July of 2022.

Ques. Does NTA provide any facility for Person with Disability candidates in JEE Main 2022?

Ans. Yes, the Person with Disability candidates will be given to use a scribe for JEE Main 2022. The scribe for JEE Main examination will be provided by the NTA.

Ques. Will the examination be held in online or offline mode for JEE Main 2022?

Ans. JEE Main 2022 examination will be held in online mode i.e., Computer Based Test. But for the B.Arch drawing test, the examination will be conducted in offline mode.

Ques. What will be the pin code in the address section in case of candidates of foreign national?

Ans. The foreign candidate has to put pin code 000000 in the address section for JEE Main 2022 registration form.

Ques. Can an applicant change the examination center for JEE Main after the allotment of roll number?

Ans. No, the candidate cannot change the examination center for JEE Main after the allotment of the roll number. The candidates cannot change JEE Main Examination center in any case.

Ques. Will the correction window be available for JEE Main 2022 application form?

Ans. Although NTA earlier stated that there will be no correction facility in JEE Main application form, on April 6th, 2022 the NTA that the correction facility in the application form will be open from April 6th to 8th, 2022.

Ques. Are there any age limits/ relaxations for candidates appearing JEE Main 2022 examination?

Ans. No, there is no age limit for candidates appearing JEE Main 2022 examination. The candidates who have passed 10+2 in 2020, 2021, and 2022 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2022.

Ques. Will the candidate be able to leave early the examination hall of JEE Main before the test concludes?

Ans. No. The candidate will not be allowed to leave early the examination hall of JEE Main before the test concludes.

Ques. Who is eligible for JEE Main?

Ans. Candidates appearing in class 12th in 2022 or passed in 2021 or 2022 are eligible for the JEE Main.

Ques. Who can apply for JEE Main 2022 examination?

Ans. The candidates who have passed class 10+2 from any State board or recognized board are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2022 examination.

Ques. Is there any negative marking for JEE Main 2022 examination?

Ans. Yes. There is a negative marking of 1 mark in both the section of JEE Main i.e. Section A (MCQ-type questions) and Section B (Numerical value).

Ques. How much are the application fees for JEE Main Form fill up?

Ques. What is the marking pattern of JEE Main 2022 examination?

Ans. The marking pattern of JEE Main 2022 examination is given below.

  • 4 marks for each correct response and a negative marking of 1 for each incorrect MCQ.
  • Unattempted questions will not be marked. 
  • For B.Arch, 50 marks for each Drawing Question, the other marking scheme is the same.

Ques. Can a candidate challenge the answer key of JEE Main 2022?

Ans. Yes. A candidate can challenge the answer key of JEE Main 2022 by paying an additional fee of INR 200 /-.

Ques. In how many languages is JEE Main 2022 held?

Ans. JEE Main 2022 is held in thirteen languages which are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, in addition to Hindi and English.

Ans. There are reservations for the different categories for JEE Main 2022 which are mentioned below.

Ques. Can a candidate apply for 2 consecutive sessions for the JEE Main 2022?

Ans. Yes, Candidates willing to apply for 2 sessions at a time can now be eligible for applying to both. However, candidates will have to pay the fees accordingly.

Ques. What are the various types of questions asked?

Ans. The questions are broadly classified into 2 categories namely, MCQs and Numerical values. There will be a negative marking scheme for all the MCQs, however, there is NO negative marking for Numerical Value type Questions.

Ques. What is a numerical type of question?

Ans. The Numerical type Questions are the ones that will have a NUMBER as the answer for the Question which the candidate will have to enter. There will not be any negative marking for such types of Questions.

Ques. What can be the minimum score to secure a seat in a top NIT or IIT, is 92 %tile good enough?

Ans. 92%tile will be considered as a low score to secure a seat in the top NITs. However, the cut off for various streams and institutes might be varied depending upon the number of students seeking admissions in various rounds of the admission process.

Ques. Due to some time constraints, I mistakenly filled the form with an incorrect name. What do I need to do?

Ans. Candidates are given the last chance to edit the details (personal details ONLY) after all the procedures are finalised. After this last chance, candidates will not be allowed to make any further changes.

Kindly be attentive to any emails from the conducting body for the dates regarding the changing period.

Ques. I do not hold an Aadhar card, how can I apply for JEE Main?

Ans. Candidates belonging to the states of J&K, Assam, Meghalaya will be allowed to fill the form with any of the Government approved identity proof such as: Passport, License, Bank account number, etc.

Please note that these candidates will have to opt for a centre in these states ONLY.

Ques. How can I challenge the Answer Key?

Ans. Candidates who are not satisfied with any of the Questions in the answer key can challenge the answer key with the link available at the time of viewing the answer key.

There will be a fee of INR 1000/- (non-refundable) per question that a candidate challenges.

Ques. Can I select my preferred slot for giving the JEE Main?

Ans. NO, candidates will not be given the liberty to select the slot according to their preferences. It will be done by the NTA authorities ONLY.

Ques. Who conducts the counselling for the candidates who qualify for JEE Main?

Ans. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be conducting counselling for the students who qualify JEE Main.
