AILET 2022 Provisional Answer key & Master question paper for BA LLB, LLM, and PhD programs have been released by the NLU Delhi. The window to raise objections in the answer key was open till 28 June 2022. AILET 2022 was conducted on 26 June 2022. According to the test takers, the exam was found easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level.

What is AILET?

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is an entry-level university examination. It is conducted by the National Law University (NLU) annually. The candidates are shortlisted based on the scores secured in the exam. The qualified students of the examination get admission to NLU, Delhi. The candidates seeking admission to the programs offered by the National Law University (NLU) wiz., BA LLB (Honors), LLM, and PhD need to register for the entrance exam. AILET 2022 will comprise 5 sections- English, Reasoning, Legal skills, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.

AILET 2022 Eligibility

AILET 2022 Eligibility criteria vary for different courses. In the following table, the basic eligibility criteria for the different courses are mentioned.

B.A.LLB BA.LLB aspirants must have 50% for general category candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates
LLM LLB or an equivalent degree from a recognized university with not less than 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates)
PhD LLM degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PwD).

AILET 2022 Application Form

Candidates can fill out the AILET 2022 Application Form till 25 May 2022. In this section, the registration process for the exam and application fee has been mentioned. 

Registration Process for AILET 2022

  • Go to the official website.
  • Then click “Apply Online”.
  • Fill out the particulars: Name, contact number, email ID of the applicant, along with their parents’ name, address, and date of birth.
  • After filling out the form, click on the Registration button.
  • The next step is the Application Locker page, the applicant needs to confirm the details provided before.
  • After successful registration, an AILET Login Number will be provided to the applicant.
  • After logging in, you will be directed to the next page, where you can select the course from the drop-down list.
  • Then click on the ‘Click here to Apply ’ button.
  • After being redirected to the online application form of AILET 2022, fill the application form.

  • Visit the official website of NLU.
  • Login using credentials generated.
  • Click on the Admit Card portal.
  • The Admit Card 2022 will be shown on the screen.
  • Download or take a printout of the Admit Card.

  • Visit the AILET application correction link.
  • Enter the login credentials.
  • On successful login, the submitted AILET application form will be displayed on the screen.
  • Click on the edit button further to the particular you want to correct.

  • Click on the “Provisional Answer Key Objection” portal.

AILET 2022 Result

AILET 2022 Results are expected to be released in the first week of July 2022. Below are the steps to download the results.

AILET 2022 Counselling

AILET counseling will be held in the National Law University (NLU) campus and the candidates must attend the counseling process with valid documents. Candidates must get admission to different courses based on the rank secured in the examination.

  • Scorecard for 10th and 12th grade.
  • Character certificate issued by the last school attended by the candidate.

AILET 2022 Cutoff

NLU will release the cutoff of AILET based on various factors including the difficulty level of the question paper, the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam, the average performance of the candidates, and reserved category candidates. Based on the cut-off marks, NLU will call the candidates for the AILET Counselling process. As per the previous year's paper analysis, the cut-off was high compared to the last year.

AILET 2022 Facts and Figures

This section includes some facts and figures of the previous year’s AILET. 

  • A total of 59,000 candidates appeared for 3283 seats of 22 NLUs. 
  • A total of 19,000 candidates appeared for 180 seats at NLU Delhi.

Figures of 2019 AILET

A total of 18,583 students appeared in last year for AILET exam, which was held across the country on May 5. Saumya Singh topped the exam, with 93.25 marks out of 150. Male candidates bagged 29 of the top 50 ranks.


Ques. What is considered a good score in AILET 2022?

Ans. A good score as expected would be 73 out of 100 for unreserved categories. And for the reserved category, marks of 50 for 100 would do good.

Ques. Will AILET 2022 be conducted online?

Ans. AILET 2022 is conducted in offline mode.

Ques. How many seats are there in AILET?

Ans. The total seats are 215 seats (70 Seats on merit through AILET score and 10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit (5 seats for Foreign Nationals and 5 seats for OCI/ PIO)).

Ans. No, there are different cutoffs for each category accordingly.

Ans. As the number of seats is less for AILET, AILET is difficult compared to CLAT.

Ques. Is there a lateral entry for NLU, Delhi?

Ans. No, there is no such option available for the courses at NLU, New Delhi.
