What's New In AILET 2026?
AILET 2027 will be held on 13 December 2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM. National Law University Delhi has opened applications for BA LLB (Hons) and LLM. The last date to apply is 10 November 2026, and the admit card will be available from 30 November 2026.
AILET is NLU Delhi's own entrance exam. It is separate from CLAT. The 2027 paper will be offline on an OMR sheet and will have negative marking.

As per the official AILET 2027 FAQ, the exam will last two hours. NLU Delhi has not announced the result or counselling dates yet.

The totals include regular category seats and the seats set aside for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO applicants. These applicants do not take AILET when they apply under those categories.
AILET 2027 Exam Pattern
The BA LLB paper has 150 one-mark questions: 50 in English, 30 in Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and 70 in Logical Reasoning. The LLM paper has 100 one-mark questions from different branches of law. Both papers last 120 minutes.

Official BA LLB pattern: 150 questions and 150 marks.
A correct answer gets one mark. A wrong answer costs 0.25 mark. An unattempted question gets no mark and has no penalty.
AILET 2027 Eligibility
BA LLB applicants need at least 45% in Class 12. The minimum is 42% for OBC candidates and 40% for SC, ST and PwD candidates. LLM applicants need 50% in LLB or an equivalent law degree; the minimum is 45% for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
Students appearing in the qualifying exam may apply. They must pass it by the date fixed by NLU Delhi. A compartment result in the admission year does not meet this condition. There is no age limit for AILET.
AILET 2027 Application and Fee
The form is available on the official AILET portal. The fee is Rs 3,000 for General, OBC, EWS and Foreign National applicants and Rs 1,000 for SC, ST and PwD applicants. Eligible SC/ST and women applicants from BPL families do not pay the fee.
Applicants may choose up to three test cities. NLU Delhi can cancel a city if fewer than 200 students choose it and allot the next available preference.
AILET Result and Admission
NLU Delhi prepares separate merit lists for BA LLB and LLM. BA LLB ties are settled by the Logical Reasoning marks, then age, and then a draw of lots. LLM ties are settled by age and then a draw of lots. Admission also depends on the course eligibility, category documents and seat available at the candidate's rank.
AILET and AIET are differentAILET 2027 is for BA LLB and LLM. NLU Delhi will hold AIET on 2 May 2027 for its specialised postgraduate and PhD programmes.

NLU Delhi says legal principles may appear in Logical Reasoning, but prior legal knowledge is not required.

Yes. Students appearing in Class 12 may apply, but they must pass by the date fixed for admission.
