Panjab University, Chandigarh is one of India's oldest and most reputed public universities. It was originally established in 1882 and was restructured in 1947 after the partition. The main campus spans 550 acres and includes 74 academic departments and over 200 affiliated colleges within Punjab. The University has earned NAAC A++ accreditation and ranks 25 in NIRF 2023. Internationally it is placed in the 601-800 range by Times Higher Education(THE) and 1001-1200 in QS World Rankings 2024.
Panjab University offers a wide range of UG, PG and doctoral programs across disciplines like Engineering, Management, Law, Sciences and Arts. Key institutes include UIET, UIAMS, and UILS. Admission is based on entrance exams such as PU CET, PU MET, and PU LLB. In 2025-26 the University revised its fee structure, increasing most exam fees by 5-8%, while significantly reducing the pre-PhD exam fee to support research scholars.
Panjab placement report 2025 has not been officially released yet. However in 2024 the university recorded a placement rate of 91%. Over 200 recruiters have participated in the drive and offered more than 2,218 jobs. A total of 325 students of UIET and 68 from SSBUICET were successfully placed. The highest package offered to the students of UIET department was INR 24.73 LPA, while the average package stood at INR 8.5 LPA. Top recruiters include Deloitte, American Express, Adani, Dabur, Korn Ferry, Tolaram and Infosys.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose masters in economics because i had interest in studying economics as it was my favourite subject. The teachers here are full of knowledge... They know not only the bookish thing but also the outer world.. All teachers here are experienced teachers and have done phd's in their respective fields. We have snap tests mid semester tests and final exams... Snap tests and mid semester tests are for the formative evaluation of the student and also for internal grading of the tests... The final exams of semesters are taken at the end of every semester where the semester is 5-6 months long.
Placement Experience:
Numerous companies keep collaborating with the university for the campus placement every year and many students gets placed through it having average package around 3.5lpa to the max of 12lpa. Although i've not chosen for internship because i'm preparing for Net/Set exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The faculty is helpful and approachable, the are quite qualified and are soft spoken. The understand our problems and help us in solving them. Overall experience is very good and the faculty members make it even good
Remarks:
The education system of the university made me choose this course The admission is merit based, cutoff remains above 80. No exams are held and the mode of admissions is online. To reserve the seat, one has to pay the fee directly.

Earn While Learn ICSSR DST INSPIRE Internship Program The Department of Science and Technology (DST) of India runs this program at Panjab University. The program aims to introduce students to the methods of science, research, and innovation. It's intended for students before they make their career decisions, usually after 12th standard. Internships for M.A. in History students Most students at Panjab University need to take the initiative to find internships or employment opportunities. Some companies may visit the campus for recruitments, but these are rare.

Course Curriculum Overview:
It is a very good course. I choose this course because if we go for BA that is bachelors of arts and then pursue law, it will take six years but going for an integrated five year, BALLB course is for 5 years only
Placement Experience:
Yes, there is a committee which usually updates students about different placements. But I don’t think so that committee is too active and successful to provide jobs and placements. Students have to put more effort.

Chemical engineering is very interesting course as we see now days AI is everywhere and job reduces due to it but for operating plant you need man power, all the faculty are phd holders, in one semester 1 mid term and end semester exam difficulty level is medium

Course Curriculum Overview:
Teaching is good . I like the teachers style of studies exam are after 4 5 months and is what you studied in classroom. If you will attend the classes regularly you didn't have any worried about exams although if you study one day before exam you will pass easily the thing is that everything is easy if you want to do.
Placement Experience:
According to course you will get placements and you have many internship because of chandigarh city.there are to many job opportunities you will get also internship during you study teachers will help you you also do job with study like part time jobs you have so many opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:
As I have a great interest in biotech so i choose this field. All the faculties are PHD of there subjects. All are very good in teaching. Exams are conducted twice per semester. One is MST and others are final exams.
Placement Experience:
College offers placements every year. So many private and government aided companies visit our college for placement. In our college there is a placement cell also. Infosys, etc are the companies that visit our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The faculty is less as compared to other universities. There are 2 or 3 professors who do not come to teach us. Scholars have taken all the responsibility to teach us. It is quite disheartening to see that there is no teaching staff.
Placement Experience:
No placement or job opportunities are offered to us in our degree. The college management does not provide or help in finding any relevant internship or placement. No companies have approached our department for placement or internship in the recent years.
