Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh, also called PGGC 46, began as a government boys’ college under the Chandigarh Administration in 1982. It became co-educational in 1992. BA has 550 seats and, together with Medical and Non-Medical B.Sc, is among the college’s largest programmes by enrolment. BCA and BBA each have only 40 seats, so admission is more competitive. B.Com students may choose Honours in Business Economics, Business Finance or Management.

PGGC Chandigarh Admission Process

Admission to BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA and B.Sc is decided entirely by Class 12 marks through the Chandigarh DHE centralised portal. These UG programmes do not require an entrance examination.

UG Admission for BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BBA and BCA

Applicants must pass 10+2 from a recognised board. The usual minimum is 45% aggregate, although actual cutoffs can be higher for courses such as BCA and BBA. Students complete the process as follows:

DAV College Sector 10 was established earlier and has a higher A+ NAAC grade, which gives students a longer institutional record to consider. Government College Sector 11 is also an older government college and is known for Science. Among these three, PGGC 46 is the only co-educational government institution.
