AILET LLM 2027 will be held on 13 December 2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM. The paper has 100 multiple-choice questions from different branches of law. Applications close on 10 November 2026.
The programme is offered by NLU Delhi. Admission is based on the AILET LLM merit list, course eligibility and the LLM seat matrix.
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Application start | 7 August 2026 |
| Application deadline | 10 November 2026 |
| Admit card | 30 November 2026 |
| Exam | 13 December 2026, 2 PM to 4 PM |
As per the official LLM eligibility page, applicants need an LLB or an equivalent law degree with at least 50%. The minimum is 45% for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
Final-year law students may apply. They must complete the degree by the date fixed for admission. A compartment result in the admission year makes the candidate ineligible. Foreign National applicants need at least 55% and must also meet NLU Delhi's English and interview requirements.
The paper has 100 one-mark MCQs from different branches of law. NLU Delhi does not divide the paper into fixed section totals. The exam lasts two hours and is held offline on an OMR sheet.
| Answer | Marks |
|---|---|
| Correct | +1 |
| Wrong | -0.25 |
| Not attempted | 0 |
The official description does not publish a chapter-by-chapter list. The 2026 paper is therefore more useful than an unofficial topic count for seeing how constitutional law, criminal law, contracts, torts, jurisprudence and other law subjects may appear.
| Category | Seats including PwD |
|---|---|
| General | 32 |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | 15 |
| Scheduled Caste | 11 |
| Scheduled Tribe | 5 |
| EWS | 7 |
| Kashmiri Migrant | 1 supernumerary |
| Foreign Nationals | 5 |
| OCI/PIO | 5 |
The total is 81. Four seats within the Indian category total are for PwD candidates. Women have 30% horizontal reservation. OBC and EWS certificates must be dated on or after 1 April 2026.
The form is online. Applicants enter their details, choose up to three test cities, upload the required files and pay the fee. The registered email address cannot be changed, so it should be checked before the form is submitted.
A photo and signature are required. Foreign National, PwD and BPL applicants also upload the document that applies to them. NLU Delhi checks original documents during admission.
NLU Delhi prepares the LLM merit list from the AILET score. If two candidates have the same score, the older candidate is placed higher. A draw of lots is used if the tie still remains. A place on a counselling list does not by itself confirm admission; the candidate must meet the eligibility and document rules and receive a seat.
The paper has 100 MCQs worth one mark each.
