Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) is a state university established by the Karnataka Government in the year 2009. The University is approved by the University Grants Commission and Bar Council of India. It is situated in Hubli, Karnataka, and is accredited by NAAC with a Grade A. It is the largest affiliating Law University in Asia, with 109 affiliated law colleges across Karnataka, serving 26,000 students. The University also runs its own Law School at the main campus in Hubballi.

The campus spans 55 acres in Navanagar, Hubballi, featuring state-of-the-art classrooms, an auditorium, an examination block, a guest house, boys' and girls' hostels, officers' residences, and sports facilities. The University offers a 3-year LL.B, a 5-year B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., and B.Com. LL.B. at affiliated colleges, and 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and BBA. LL.B (Hons.) at its Law School. Master’s programs are available in Constitutional and Administrative Law, Corporate and Commercial Law, IPR Law, and Criminal Law. Certificate courses in Information Law, Water Law, Aviation Law, and PG Diploma courses are also offered. Additionally, Ph.D. and LL.D. programs are available on campus. KSLU Hubli offers many law courses in different law colleges affiliated with it. Selection to these courses is purely based on merit which may also vary from college to college. KSLU Admission to integrated law courses is given to candidates who have passed 10+2 from recognized University or be less than 20 years in the case of the general category and 22 years in the case of SC/ST or should have secured not less than 45% for the general category and not less than 40% for SC/ST in the qualifying examination. The University does not provide any scholarship. But a few of the Law colleges affiliated with the University provide scholarships. Seshadripuram Law College, which is affiliated with the University offers Sri K. C. Puttanarasaiah Endowment upon students who secure the highest marks in the final year examination. Also, there are many State and National level scholarships available that can be availed by the students studying at KSLU.
