KSLU Admission Update
Karnataka State Law University was established in 2009 and is the largest federal university in the country with 92 affiliated colleges under its umbrella. KSLU is a state university located in Navanagar, Hubli, Karnataka, offering various undergraduate and postgraduate law courses. These include 5-year integrated BA LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com LLB, and BBA LLB (Hons) programs, as well as LLM degrees in Intellectual Property Rights, Constitutional Law, International Law, Business and Trade Law, and Criminal Law.
The application process for the academic year starts in June and can be completed both online and offline. Applicants can obtain forms from the university's official website or directly from the university. KSLU does not conduct entrance exams; admissions are based solely on merit. KSLU reserves a percentage of seats for physically handicapped students, students belonging to Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmiri migrants, and students from the Karnataka-Hyderabad region.

KSLU Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Karnataka State Law University offers a 3-year LL.B, 5-year BA. LL.B, B.Com LL.B, BBA. LL.B., and B.Com. LL.B. at affiliated colleges, and 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and BBA LL.B (Hons) at its Law School. The eligibility criteria and selection criteria are as follows.
LLB Program
Candidates must have graduated from an open or deemed university in any discipline after completing their 10+2 education. General category students need to secure at least 45% marks, while SC/ST students need at least 40%. The age limit for general category candidates is less than 30 years as of 1st June; for SC, ST, and other backward communities, the age limit is 35 years.
BALLB and BBA + LLB Programs
Candidates must have successfully completed the 10+2 examination or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university in India or abroad. General category students need to secure at least 45% marks, while SC/ST students need at least 40%. The age limit for general category candidates is less than 20 years as of 1st June; for SC, ST, and other backward communities, the age limit is 22 years.
KSLU Admission 2025: Selection Criteria
The selection of candidates to undergraduate courses is done based on merit. There are no such entrance exams taken. The candidates belonging to General Category must have at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination and in the case of candidates of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, they must have at least 40% marks.

KSLU Application Process 2025
There are around 92 colleges under this University and have some specific procedures for entrance examinations and personal interviews as well for some of the courses. For the admission to 3-year courses, based on merit in all colleges under the jurisdiction of Karnataka State Law University. Based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination. Candidates can apply for the application forms both online and offline.
Steps to apply
- Candidates can obtain the application form directly from the office of the Karnataka State Law University for applying for admission offline.
- Candidates who are trying to apply online can obtain an application form from the official website of the university.
- After submitting the application form, pay the application fees which are INR 1000 for the general category and INR 500 for the SC and ST category students.
- For the offline applicants, the payment can be done through a demand draft in the favor of the Finance officer of KSLU.

Ques. What is the KSLU passing score?
Ans: At KSLU, a score of 40% is required to pass each semester. Each subject's 100 points are broken into 80 and 20 percentiles. The theory paper is worth 80 points, while the internal assessment is worth 20 points. Each subject must receive 32 points from the students.
Ques. Is the presentation of the eligibility certificate at the time of admission required for all students?
Ans: No, only students from states other than Karnataka or from outside of India need to present an eligibility certificate. Such candidates must present the transcripts and mark sheets from the 10th and 12th grades that were issued by the relevant board or department. The candidates must also turn in the original copies of all of their previous report cards. Students who have finished 10+2 from the Karnataka board or CBSE are the only candidates who are excused from submitting the eligibility certificate (New Delhi).

Ans: The qualifying exam requires a minimum score of 45% for students in the general category (44.5% and above are treated as 45%); 42% for students in the OBC category; and 40% for students in the SC/ST category.
