What's New?
The JEE Main CSAB Counselling 2025 is a process to admit candidates in Self-financing Technical Institutes (SFTIs). This process is open to the candidates who have qualified JEE Main Exam with a valid JEE Rank.
There are a total of 34 CSAB SFTI institutes available for securing admission to the students who could not secure a seat in JoSAA counselling.
The JEE Main CSAB Counselling dates will be announced by the authority after the end of JoSAA Counselling. The CSAB Counselling registrations are expected to start from the month of July 2025.
The admission to the SFTIs will be based on merit from the JEE Main Cut-Off, form preference, and seat availability during the CSAB 2025 seat allotment process.

JEE Main CSAB SFTI Pre-Allotment Process
A candidate must complete the pre-allotment process before the CSAB SFTI enrollments for a smooth seat allotment process. Below are the mentioned steps to follow:
- Candidates must visit the official CSAB website and register themselves using the JEE Main Roll Number.
- Make the initial registration fee payment of INR 21000 by e-challan at the State Bank of India.
- Take a printout of the e-challan receipt and keep it with you.

JEE Main CSAB 2025 Counselling Process
The Central Seat Allocation Board conducts a special round for the vacant seats of Self-Funded Technical Institutions (SFTIs) after the JoSAA Counselling. These rounds are very important for students who could not secure a seat during JoSAA counselling. The process of seat allotment is mentioned below:
- Registration to the CSAB Portal: Candidates must register on the official website of the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) portal by entering their details.
- Log in to your account using your JEE Main Application Number and Password (the same credentials that you used for checking the JEE Main results)
Fill in the personal and academic details such as:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Category (Gen/ OBC/ SC/ST)
- JEE Main Rank and Roll Number
3. Choice Filling - Choice filling allows you to select the program and institute that you wish to get admission to.
- After you log into your account, go to the choice filling section and select your desired Self-financing Technical Institutes (SFTI)
- You can fill 30 choices in each round, so make sure to select a wide range of options to secure a seat.
4. Seat Allotment Process - After choice filling, CSAB conducts the seat allotment process based on the JEE Main rank, Category, and preferred option of the candidate.
- When the seat allotment process ends the candidate can log in to their CSAB account and check whether they have been allotted a seat or not.The candidate must accept or reject the seat allotted within the given time.
5. CSAB Fee Payment:
If a seat is allocated to the candidate, he/she needs to pay an acceptance fee to confirm their seat.
Seat acceptance Fee:
- The candidates should pay a fee of 21000 (for all categories) through the CSAB portal.
- The payment can be done online via SBI Collect, which is available on the CSAB portal.
6. Reporting to the Allotted Institute - After paying the seat acceptance fee, the candidate should report to the allotted institute for document verification and other formalities.
- Visit the admission office of the allotted institute as per the timeline specified by CSAB.
- The institute will verify your document and complete your admission process, then you will be enrolled in the program.
7. Withdrawal of Seat:
If you decide to withdraw the seat allotted to you, you can withdraw your admission within the allotted time mentioned on the CSAB website.
Refund of the fees:
- If you withdraw from the seat within the specified period then your seat acceptance fee will be refunded
- The processing fee will be deducted from the seat acceptance fee and the remaining will be refunded. The processing fee is 3000 for General/OBC and 1500 for SC/ST candidates.

Question 1. How to check the CSAB Refund status?
Answer- You can check the CSAB refund status by logging into your account on the official CSAB Portal and clicking on the “Refund Status” section for updates. Your refund will be available in your account if you withdraw your seat before the time mentioned on the CSAB portal.
Question 2. Will I get a refund after CSAB round 2?
Answer- Yes, you will get a refund if you don’t get a seat or withdraw your seat before the deadline. The refund is INR 18,000, and a processing fee of INR 3,000 is not refunded from the total fees. However, if you don’t accept or reject the seat before the deadline, your fees will not be refunded.
Question 3. Does CSAB consider the 75% criteria?
Answer- Yes, candidates belonging to the general category must have secured a 75% aggregate in their class 12th examination. For SC/ST and PWD candidates, the aggregate marks required are 65% to be eligible for CSAB Counselling.
Question 4. What happens if I don’t get a seat in CSAB Counselling?
Answer- If you don’t get a seat through CSAB, your previously allotted seat through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) will remain unaffected, and you can keep that seat. However, if you are allotted a seat in CSAB, your JoSAA seat will be canceled automatically.
