What's New in JEE Main 2026 Registration?
JEE Main 2026 application form for Session 2 is available on the official website. The application form for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 was released on 1 February 2026.
- You can fill out the Session 2 Application form for JEE Main till 25 February 2026.
- JEE Main registration will conclude at 9:00 PM, and you can pay the application fee by 11:50 PM.
- You must pay the JEE Main application fee of INR 1000 (general male candidates) and INR 800 (general female candidates).
- For exam centers outside India, the JEE Main session 2 application fee ranges from 2500 to 10000 for different categories.
- JEE Main 2026 Session 2 will be conducted between 2 April to 9 April 2026.
JEE Main 2026 session 1 recorded around 14,50,000 registrations, and out of these, around 13,00,368 candidates appeared.

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria for Session 2
Before applying for JEE Main 2026, you must meet the JEE Main qualifying criteria outlined below.
- Age Criteria: There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main 2026. However, institutes may require you to meet the age limit as per their eligibility criteria.
- Qualifying Criteria: You must have completed class 12th from any recognized board in 2024 or 2025 or be appearing in 2026. For admissions, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs require you to have secured a minimum of 75% marks.
- Qualifying exams accepted for JEE Main 2026 include:
- Intermediate or 2-year pre-university examination.
- 2-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
- SSC examination is conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling.
- 3-year diploma recognized by AICTE.
- (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

Ques. Are droppers eligible for JEE Main 2026?
Ans. Yes, droppers are eligible for JEE Main 2026. Such students must have completed class 12th in 2024 or 2025. Droppers who have completed class 12th in 2023 or earlier are not eligible.
Ques. How many attempts are allowed in JEE Main exam?
Ans. In JEE Main exam, you are allowed to appear in the examination 6 times in 3 consecutive years. Each year, you can appear for JEE Main 2026 2 times. From the year of passing class 12th, you can appear for 3 consecutive years.
How to Fill JEE Main Form for Session 2
JEE Main session 2 application process is different for those who are already registered and for those who register for the first time.
JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registered Candidates
Those who registered earlier during the JEE Main 2026 session 1 registration period must not register again.
- Students who registered for Session 1 can log in using their Application Number and Password.
- Such candidates can simply select the paper, medium of the question paper, and examination cities.

Ques. Which details can I correct in JEE Main application form correction window?
Ans. You can edit the details listed below once the JEE Main session 2 correction window is opened.
- Personal Details: Minor corrections to names, date of birth, gender, etc.
- Category and Sub-Category: Changes in category (e.g., General to OBC) are allowed, provided candidates upload the relevant category certificate.
- Exam Center Preferences: Applicants may update their choice of exam centers based on any changes in location or travel convenience.
