What's New in UCEED 2026?
IIT Bombay will publish UCEED result 2026 on the official website on 6 March 2026. UCEED scorecard will be available for download from 10 March 2026.
The Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) 2026 will be conducted by IIT Bombay on January 18, 2026. The official notification was released on October 1, 2025, on the official website – uceed.iitb.ac.in. UCEED 2026 Registration Process
UCEED registration is conducted online on the official website uceed.iitb.ac.in/2026. To register for the exam, the candidate must fill out the UCEED application form 2026 with all the valid information, upload the required documents, and pay the registration fees.
Note: If the PwD candidates require a scribe and/or additional time during the exam, they need to upload a request letter during registration. Candidates can find the format for various certificates in the Appendices section of the UCEED 2026 Information brochure.
UCEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Only candidates who fulfill the UCEED eligibility criteria set by the authorities are eligible to apply for the examination. The UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2026 are mentioned below:
- Nationality: The examination is open for Indian as well as Foreign national candidates.
- Age Limit: The candidate of the Open/EWS/OBC-NCL category should have been born on or after October 1, 2000, while candidates falling under the SC/ST/PwD category should have been born on or after October 1, 1995.
- Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt the UCEED exam only two times in consecutive years. The exam score is valid for admission in the respective year only.
- Qualifying Examination: The candidate should have passed class 12 in all subjects in any stream in 2026 or should be appearing for the class 12 examination for the first time in 2026.
UCEED 2026 Application Fee
Candidates must pay the UCEED application fee 2026 in online mode through a credit card, debit card, or net banking. How many sections will the UCEED 2026 question paper contain?

Ques: Is there any negative marking in the UCEED exam?
Ans: Yes, there is a negative marking in the UCEED exam. For every incorrect answer for MSQs, -1 is deducted, whereas for every incorrect answer for MCQs, -0.71 is deducted.
UCEED 2026 Exam Pattern
Candidates must know the UCEED exam pattern before beginning their preparation. The authorities have made changes in the exam pattern this year. The details regarding the UCEED 2026 exam pattern are as follows:
- Sections: There are two compulsory parts in the paper: Part A and Part B.
- Exam Mode: It is an exam center-based test in which Part A is conducted in online mode and Part B is conducted in offline mode.
- Exam Duration: The exam duration of Part A is 2 hours and the duration of Part B is 1 hour.
- Exam language: The question paper is available only in the English language.
- Total Marks: The question paper carries a total of 300 marks. Part A is assigned 200 marks while Part B is assigned 100 marks.
- Number of Questions: There will be a total of 57 questions in Part A of the paper, while Part B will have 2 questions about design aptitude and drawing.

UCEED 2026 Syllabus
IIT Bombay has released the revised UCEED 2026 syllabus. As per the new UCEED syllabus, the question paper contains two parts: Part A and Part B. UCEED 2026 Admit Card
All the successfully registered candidates can download the UCEED admit card 2026 on the official website from January 2, 2026, onwards. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the UCEED 2026 Admit Card along with a valid photo identity proof to the exam centre. Without these documents, candidates will not be allowed to sit for the UCEED 2026 exam.
UCEED 2026 Exam Centres
The UCEED 2026 exam is held at 27 exam cities across the country. Candidates must select any three UCEED exam centres in order of their preference during the registration. No change of the exam centre is allowed once the UCEED registration is done. Candidates are allotted the UCEED exam centre based on their preference and the number of candidates available at the test centre.

UCEED 2026 Answer Key
The authorities will release a draft UCEED 2026 answer key along with the question paper on the official website on January 28, 2026.
Candidates can file objections against the UCEED answer key only through the candidates’ portal by January 22, 2026 (Till 5 PM). Objections received via email or any other medium are not acceptable. After reviewing all the comments/ objections, the UCI Committee will release the UCEED 2026 final answer key. The UCEED Final Answer Key cannot be challenged.
UCEED 2026 Result
UCEED 2026 result is scheduled to be published online on the official website on March 6, 2026. All candidates who appeared for the UCEED 2026 exam can view their results by logging into their accounts by entering their User ID and password. UCEED 2026 Scorecard is available to download from March 10 to July 31, 2026. The UCEED Scorecard includes details like section-wise marks, category-wise qualifying marks, candidate’s name, roll number, etc.
UCEED 2026 Rank List
All UCEED 2026 qualified candidates will be assigned a common merit rank. The authorities prepare the UCEED rank list based on the total marks obtained by candidates in the exam. However, candidates should note that the mere appearance in the UCEED 2026 rank list does not guarantee admission to the B.Des program.
In case two or more candidates get the same marks, certain tie-breaking rules are applied to decide the rank of the candidate. The UCEED Tie-breaking criteria are mentioned below:
- A higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part B.
- If the tie persists, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Section 2 of Part A.
- If the tie persists, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Section 1 of Part A.
- If there is a tie even after this, the candidates will be assigned the same rank.
UCEED 2026 Cutoff
IIT Bombay is expected to release the category-wise UCEED 2026 cutoff for Part A online on February 5, 2026. The UCEED cutoff is determined based on certain parameters such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates, seat availability, previous year’s cutoff, etc. The UCEED cutoff for seat allocation may differ from institute to institute.
UCEED 2026 Counselling
The UCEED 2026 Counselling commences after the declaration of the rank list. All the qualified candidates can fill out the UCEED Counselling Application Form 2026 on the official website. The IIT Bombay conducts the joint seat allotment procedure for admission to B.Des programs in respective institutes.
- Candidates must fill out the form, select the institutes in order of their preference, and pay the application fees in online mode to participate in the UCEED counseling process.
- The authority conducts five UCEED Counselling seat allotment rounds.
- Seat allotment is done based on the All India Rank, reservation category, and seat availability in each institute.
