UCEED 2026 Question Paper

The UCEED 2026 question paper has 14 numerical-answer questions, 15 multiple-select questions and 28 single-correct questions in Part A. Part B has a drawing task and a design-aptitude task, worth 50 marks each.

The drawing task uses a low viewpoint: a dog looking back at a child during a park walk. The design task asks for a portable toiletry organiser for travel. These test different skills. The scene needs a consistent viewpoint, scale and composition; the product response needs to show how it is used, carried and kept hygienic.

2026 Part-A answer key: draft version. The matching key is available with the paper below. It provides answer options and numerical ranges, not worked explanations for every question.

UCEED 2025 Question Paper

The UCEED 2025 questions and solutions cover tasks such as paint proportions, magic-square totals, counting regions made by cuts and converting measurement units. Several questions require following a visual or numerical condition carefully rather than using a long formula.

Part B pairs a busy railway-platform scene with a portable seating-device design. For the scene, the main people must remain clear within the crowd. For the product, both the packed and usable forms need to make sense. A polished drawing cannot make up for leaving out a required view or a basic function.

When reviewing a numerical answer, keep the units in the question consistent. For a visual question, retain the original figure beside the explanation: an option letter by itself cannot show whether you missed a rotation, hidden surface or change in scale.

UCEED 2024 Question Paper

The UCEED 2024 paper with solutions uses the 200-mark Part A and 100-mark Part B split. Its Part-B drawing asks for a garage scene from a specified observer's viewpoint. The design task concerns a lunch box for a young child.

These briefs show why the user and viewpoint matter. A child's lunch box needs practical handling and separation of food; the garage drawing must place the viewer consistently. Short labels can explain how a product works, but they should support the drawing rather than replace the requested visual answer.

UCEED 2020-2023 Papers: The Earlier Two-Part Format

Papers from this period use 68 Part-A questions for 240 marks and one Part-B drawing question for 60 marks. Part A lasts two hours and 30 minutes, leaving 30 minutes for Part B.

Marking also changed within the older period. The 2020 and 2021 papers gave no partial MSQ credit and deducted 0.19 for an incorrect MSQ. The 2023 paper and solutions use partial MSQ credit and a -1 penalty. Use the instructions printed with the year you are scoring.

A score of 120 in an old 240-mark Part A and 120 in a current 200-mark Part A are not equivalent results. Compare accuracy and the types of errors separately; changing the denominator does not account for a different paper's difficulty.

UCEED 2015-2019 Papers

The earliest papers provide more numerical, visual and reasoning questions, but they do not reproduce today's drawing-and-design split. The 2019 paper has 85 questions for 300 marks; the 2015 paper has 100 questions for 300 marks.

In 2015, numerical questions carried +3 for a correct answer and -1 for an incorrect answer. In 2019, numerical questions carried +3 without negative marking. Those rules differ from the current +4 NAT scheme. The older MSQ and MCQ penalties also differ.

Use these papers to practise a specific skill, such as counting surfaces or interpreting a pattern. For a complete timed attempt matching the current split, use a recent two-part paper instead.

UCEED 2027 Marking Scheme

Unanswered Part-A questions carry zero. NAT answers are entered as numbers; MSQs may have one or more correct options; MCQs have one correct option.

How MSQ partial marks work

Example: if A, B and D are correct, choosing A and B earns +2. Choosing all three earns +4. Adding C makes the selection incorrect and earns -1; the correct choices do not cancel out the wrong one.

How to Review Part B

Review the drawing and design task separately. For a scene, check the requested viewpoint, proportions, arrangement of people and objects, and line quality. For a product, check whether it solves the stated problem and whether the required views explain its use.

The 2026 paper assigns marks to specific drawing and product-design criteria. That is more useful for review than judging only whether the final sketch looks attractive. A toiletry organiser, for example, needs a workable way to keep wet and dry items apart as well as a clear carrying form.

Part B has subjective evaluation and can have more than one valid response. Part-A answer keys therefore cannot be used as a scoring key for drawings. Compare your response with the question's criteria without treating an example sketch as the only acceptable answer.
