NSUT Admission Dates 2026

NSUT uses JAC Delhi counselling for B.Tech and B.Arch admission in the 2026-27 session. The counselling is based on JEE Main 2026 ranks. B.Des admission is handled separately by the university through its design aptitude process.

NSUT Courses and Fees

NSUT has more than 60 programmes across UG, PG, and doctoral levels. Engineering students get 20+ branch choices, and the fee structure is regulated because NSUT is funded by the Delhi government. The table lists the main course groups and their total fees based on the official yearly fee pattern.

NSUT also offers newer B.Tech areas such as Mathematics and Computing, Geo-informatics Engineering, Network and Information Security, and Electronics Engineering in VLSI Design. These options support fields like semiconductor design and cybersecurity. Its B.Des course has five design streams, which makes NSUT one of the few government engineering universities in Delhi with undergraduate design education.

NSUT Admission Process

B.Tech admission at NSUT is handled only through JAC Delhi. The university does not run a separate engineering entrance test or a separate NSUT engineering admission portal. Seats are given through JAC Delhi rounds using JEE Main Paper-1 rank, category, and branch preference.

B.Tech Admission (via JAC Delhi)

For B.Tech, students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, at least 60% aggregate marks, or 55% for reserved categories, and English as a compulsory subject. A valid JEE Main rank is also required.

• Register on the JAC Delhi portal after JEE Main results, usually in June
• Complete document verification and fill choices for NSUT branches and campuses
• Take part in several allotment rounds, from Round 1 to Round 4, between June and August
• Join spot rounds for vacant seats from August to September
• Report to the allotted campus and pay the required fee

At NSUT, CSE and Computer Engineering are the most preferred branches. For CSE at the main Dwarka campus, General Category Home State closing JEE Main ranks have usually been in the 3,000 to 8,000 range in recent admission cycles.

B.Des Admission

NSUT conducts B.Des admission directly through a design aptitude test and portfolio review. Students must have passed 10+2 in any stream with at least 50% marks. The aptitude test checks visual thinking, drawing skills, and creativity. Final merit is prepared using the aptitude test score, portfolio, and interview together.

MBA Admission

For MBA admission, students need graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks and a valid CAT, MAT, or CMAT score. NSUT conducts a group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI). For MBA in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development, a case-study round is also held along with GD-PI.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech applicants must have a B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant branch with at least 60% marks and a valid GATE score. GATE-qualified students can receive an MHRD stipend during the course. Non-GATE applicants can apply through the university admission test for sponsored or self-financing seats.

NSUT Placements

Most NSUT placement offers come from CSE, Computer Engineering, IT, and ECE. The placement cell works with 300+ companies every year from technology, analytics, consulting, and finance.

During the 2025 placement season, the highest package was INR 65 LPA. The average package was INR 18 LPA, while the median package was INR 15 LPA. The overall placement rate for the 2025 batch reached 95%.

Recruiters include Apple, DE Shaw, Google, Atlassian, Microsoft, Zomato, Adobe, Amazon, EY, Deloitte, JP Morgan Chase, BCG, TCS, Infosys, and ZS Associates. Product-based technology companies usually offer the highest packages. Core branches such as Mechanical and Civil generally record average packages in the INR 6 to 10 LPA range.

NSUT Rankings

NSUT was ranked 70 in NIRF Engineering 2025. The ranking reflects its performance in teaching, research, and industry-related measures. In the state public university list, it is placed at 39 nationally.

NSUT Campus and Infrastructure

NSUT runs three campuses in Delhi. The main and largest campus is at Dwarka Sector 3, where the schools of engineering, management, design, and sciences are based. The East Campus at Geeta Colony and the West Campus at Dwarka Sector 9 support more engineering schools and departments.

The campuses have computer labs, engineering labs, libraries, and seminar halls. At the main campus, boys and girls have separate hostels with mess facilities and recreational areas. Students also get access to a cafeteria, bank branch, health centre, and Wi-Fi facilities across campuses.

Because NSUT works through several campuses, it can offer more B.Tech seats across both core and newer engineering branches. The main Dwarka campus also has sports facilities for cricket, basketball, and badminton.

NSUT vs DTU vs IIIT-Delhi

NSUT, Delhi Technological University (DTU), and IIIT Delhi are major Delhi government-funded engineering universities. All three take B.Tech students through JAC Delhi counselling using JEE Main ranks. Students allotted a seat in JAC Delhi commonly compare these three universities before locking their final choice.

DTU has a better NIRF Engineering rank and a larger seat pool, so many JAC Delhi aspirants place it first for engineering. IIIT-Delhi has a narrower academic focus, mainly CSE and ECE, but it records strong product-company packages. NSUT gives students a wider branch list and three campus options. For areas such as Geo-informatics, VLSI, IoT, and Manufacturing Automation, NSUT may be the only JAC Delhi choice for several such branches.
