I have interest in Mechanical engineering and also IIT delhi mechanical is under top 70 Mechanical engineering in the world as per QS. No doubt Faculty is much qualifies mostly have done PhD from foreign university or from another IIT The frequecy of exams is much high. We have Mid sem and end sem exams and alsong with this we alsmost have quizes every week and assignment deadline also in every week. Some courses also have semester project making schedule much hectic
talking about placement opportunities many companies come to campus including google microsoft to core companies like texas instruments and bajaj giving a decent job opportunity. each one with a cgpa of more than 7 easily grasp job with pay of more than 12 lpa and people with decent cgpa of more than 8 grasp top jobs in the campus
Read Full ReviewAs mention a Lear I am very eager and interested to study maths and computing as none other college like it Bombay IIT Madras or even IIT Kanpur offer BTech in mathematics I preferred IIT Delhi over other colleges. The exams at IIT Delhi are very frequent and may covers --there are 1 minor exam one major exam and few poses Viva or demo for each course but it may very according to the professor of the course. The overall difficulty level of the exams are fully dependent on the professor and the marking or the grading in IT Delhi is relative hands we have to perform better than the others to get a good grade.
The placement and job opportunities that IIT Delhi are very much good amazing dependent on the profs. If one is doing good in research him or she might get an offer letter from other universities recommended by the professor of IIT Delhi which is a for the person to further research or study at that college this is a very much big advantage of the professors that IIT Delhi also there are many internship options many big companies like James Street and optimus come to IIT Delhi to offer internship and placement of us to the students of maths and computing computer science and electrical engineering these are high frequency trading companies that offer hi amount of salary to this
Read Full ReviewI feel one of the bad thing at this prestigious institute is just academics.Firstly IIT kanpur and Delhi is very hard on academics. So scoring here is quite difficult.Meanwhile to get jobs and internships from non circuital branches students mostly either learn from online courses or youtube. As the curriculum is obselete. It has no real life applications.Even the faculties don't know how to teach.Their teaching methods are very bad , students only go to classes to maintain their 75% criteria , no one wants to attend the lectures willingly. Exam happens 4 times for each course per semester 2 quizzes minor and major.Difficulty level is variable as it is depends on the course coordinator.
I am a first year students so I haven't experienced placement activities. However, I volunteered in OCS(office of Career Services) placement activities in December. I have seen some recruiters, and most of them demand a cg>=7. It doesn't matter if the branch is circuital or not. In my opinion, the average package is not disclosed, but I think it might be around 18 to 20 lpa.
Read Full ReviewI had interest in choosing this course and also my rank allowed me to open just 2-3 options in IIT DELHI . The beat was this course. All faculty Members are top notch and all have many years of experience with some research going on side by side . We just have lectures and tutorials . Lab courses have labs too . Exams occurs 2 times in 6 months which is called 1 semester and 1 year is of 2 semesters
The brand value of college is huge so most of the companies come here for the job and Highest package is around 4Cr and avg is around 20lakhs More than 90%places I am planing for a job in consultancy firms
Read Full ReviewI chose this course because this was the course I was getting with my rank at this particular rank. Further I chose it in IIT Delhi because I was situated proximate to the college and this college also provided chances for Department Change (DepC) from EE to Computer Science. Even if I wasn’t able to change my department to computer science and engineering, I would still be in a good position in the electrical Branch due to its flexibility in the current market. Term Exams were conducted timely, with half-semester exams and end-semester exams, along with multiple quizzes throughout the semester for different courses as per the course policy. The professors have good knowledge, but the caveat is that they sometimes have erratic behaviour or are unwilling to understand students’ concerns when brought to them, especially regarding unavailibilty to attend labs sometimes due to health concerns. Also, the professors can’t understand that we have different responsibilities apart from courses
IIT Delhi’s placement season in 2024-2025 saw over 1200 offers for over 1150 students, with more than 50 international offers. The highest international package - 2.5 crore, and the highest domestic package - 1 crore. The median salary was approx 19 lakhs. Eligibility requires a minimum CGPA and no disciplinary issues. Top recruiters include Microsoft, apple, quad eye, optiver, Goldman sachs, Qualcomm, GDC, etc. The current placement rate is 61 percent. My plans after getting my degree are going to be to probably join a quantitative firm or a core company in order to further my corporate interests.
Read Full ReviewCourse curriculum of IITDelhi is too hectic for the 1st year students as per my experience .Because there is no Branch Studies involved in 1st year.Students of all branches studies the Same thing whether it is Computer science or Textile. From 2nd year ,My branch Which is Chemical engg said to be less hectic and you be having Free time to develop your skills and personality other than acadmics. The Teaching methods of professors are very different from each other..Some professor just read out the slides that they have made for the lectures.but some profs. Eloborates each and every concepts behind the thing which is happening and give more and more examples of that situation.
Placement season started at the end of 7th semester of an 4th year students. A lots of Companies visits our Collage for recruitement. Some company shortlist students for interview round on the basis of CGPA, written exam ,Skills ,Branch criteria and many more .Companies like wipro, Amazon ,Flipkart, TCS ,google ,Microsoft visits us and Gave avg . Pakages of 22-25lakhs per annum CTC. And the highest pakage of last year is 3.2 cr/annum.nearly 90% of students who sits for placements got placed in any of the companies. Some of ghe students do not want to sit for placements as ther have other goals in life as start-up ,Tradings ,Creative fields ,Design and Filming etc
Read Full ReviewIn one year there was 2 semester , I have from civil btech ,so in every semester I have 3-4 lab per week, lab based on real life testing In civil department total 40 professors , I should have completed 159 credit to complete the degree
In my colleage opportunity for intern and placement is very good In my college there is more than 1000 companies that come in my year of iit delhi Companies have almost all profile for every profession , like consult ,trading , teaching , project management , developer , analyst
Read Full ReviewCourse curriculum is tough as compared to other IITs. Making a good CGPA is slighly tougher, but the professors are very helpful. The teaching assistance are there to solve any doubt, professors are very welcoming to help.
All final year graduating students can sit for placements. Google, microsoft, qualcomm, Texas, Bajaj etc are the companies visited in our campus. 90% people get placed. I am placed and will be joining the job.
Read Full ReviewI chose chemical engineering because it has good scope and also I was getting this branch in my college at my rank. The faculties of iit are highly qualified from well known universities and have very good H-indexes. Most of the professor show presentations in class but some professors also use conventional black board teaching in the class. It is mandatory to do self study as one cannot score good by just classes because of very vast syllabus. Every semester there are two exams held the mid-sem exam and the post-sem exam, but along with them there are multiple quizzes in every course held in every one or two weeks. Exams are also quit difficult as questions are mostly application based and also have large syllabus but with regular studying students can score quite good enough.
Talking about myself IIT Delhi has very cut-off being the top choice for all the students aspiring. In general category closing rank for boys is around 5000 for the lowest branch while for girls it is around 10-12000.I have taken a jee coaching for preparing for the exam.
Read Full ReviewI would like to research in my department .All of my professor are well experienced they conduct our test one in a month. There is also a lot of scope in my department in jobs .Because our country needs energy engineers in coming years
There is a lot of opportunities gor a well reputed job. Lot of great companies are come every year. Highest package was around 3 crore and average package was 2500000 last year.
