I was passionate about Physics and interested in higher studies. The academic curriculum is very rigorous and competitive. The exams are difficult and need thorough preparation. The faculties are some of the best in their field but this always don't reflect in their teaching.

The course curriculum contains physics along with parts of electronics, the physics part includes quantum physics, classical mechanics, electrodynamics, Optics, Relativity basics along with labs, the faculties are all highly qualified

I want to pursue higher studies and research in physics and that is why I opted for this subject. I went for a BTech degree because I wanted to keep the options of getting into other industries open. The engineering physics degree includes a lot of electronics as well like analog, digital, semiconductors etc. other than that there are core physics subjects including emphasis on quantum physics. The professors are all very well established in their fields and experts in their subject with most of them having a strong research profile. Some professors are not that great at teaching but they are mostly all knowledgeable. The options for electives comes in the last year where one can choose for a departmental or an open elective. Overall the course is challenging but not very difficult. Some professors really take in the effort to make the studying a holistic process by including projects but that depends from person to person.

Tough but , equally fruitful . One who , could manage time would enjoy a lot but others might have to cut some slack. Else eveything is good . The faculties as mentioned are strict but really passionate about there subject .

Course curriculum includes pure mathematics, computer science courses, finance courses, statistics courses and a lot. We have many good facilities and a dedicated computer desk in the department lab as well.

The course mathematics and computing is one of the best course available in any iit . It is among the top branches here after CSE and AI . The faculty here are very good and have a huge academic background

I think in some subjects our course is not up to date like in Engeneering Drawing we have to draw with our hands although nowadays we have computers to do so. Our professors are supportive and good enough in terms of experience.

Its known to be a chill course so you can focus on multiple skills sidewise. The faculties are extremely talented and most of them teach great. The exams were once every two months and some were pretty difficult while some were moderate.

Hectic curriculum,academics keeps you involved whole day, Faculties are knowledgeable, some sort of exams,quiz, lab e .t.c every other day . So yes academics is challenging in IIT GUWAHATI Like any other IIT and the main reason being relative grading.

The course in first year included all the subjects. The professors are not so good as most of the students will be sleeping in their class. Students find studying on youtube or other resources more beneficial. Exams were held in each month and one semester got ended in just 4 months.students go to classes only for attendance and many don't even go. Profs are qualified but the syllabus is vast and time is less so they just come , read the slides which nobody understands and go.
