Remarks :
The admission for B.Tech is done through JEE Advanced scores. Bachelor Design students are selected through UCEED, M.Tech students through GATE, M.Sc students through JAM, MBA student through CAT and PHD students through interviews. Most students attends coaching classes for these tests.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was passionate about Physics and interested in higher studies. The academic curriculum is very rigorous and competitive. The exams are difficult and need thorough preparation. The faculties are some of the best in their field but this always don't reflect in their teaching.
Internships Opportunities :
I couldn't secure an internship on campus. Many companies come for Internships including Microsoft, Cisco,Goldman Sachs etc, mostly for software roles. There are companies like SLB and JLR who come for core Mechanical and Electrical roles. A few startups also come for Non Tech roles.
Placement Experience :
There are many companies who come for on campus placements and internships including Microsoft, Google, Salesforce etc. mostly for software roles. Companies like Media. Net, Zomato and Meesho also hire for Product roles. There are a few companies who hire for core Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical roles. The placement rate last year was around 85 percent. You shouldn't have an active backlog to appear for placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year wise fees are around 2.5 lakhs for general category out of which 2 lakhs is the tuition fees. There are no other fees. Financial aid is provided for SC/ST students and students with low annual income. You can also get educational loans from the banks on campus.
Campus Life :
The annual cultural fest, Alcheringa, is held in February. The annual Tech fest Techniche is held in September and the annual Sports fest Spirit is held in October. There are a thousands of books and the latest journals in the library which was be borrowing via a digitised system. The sports culture in campus is extremely good with facilities for nearly all sports including archery. There are many technical, cultural and sports clubs who are very active.
Hostel Facilities :
Some of the hostels are old but they are well maintained. All hostels have their own mess, canteen, stationary shop, library and juice centres. There are also recreational activities like a dance room, music room, TV room etc. The food provided in mess is of decent quality with a diverse menu.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
