IIT-Guwahati Review
Remarks :
The college is in top 7 iits and has a good placement data. i had to pass jee mains and jee advanced for the admission. Jee mains has 2 attempts and if you clear it then only you are eligible to sit for JEE Advanced.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum includes pure mathematics, computer science courses, finance courses, statistics courses and a lot. We have many good facilities and a dedicated computer desk in the department lab as well.
Internships Opportunities :
I have got an internship offer at Goldman Sachs for the next summer. It came for SDE and Quant role. They offer internship at Bangalore and Hyderabad office. First we had an online assessment round for both the profiles and then the students were shortlisted on the basis of score in the OA's and then followed by 2-3 interviews.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for placement and internship is given by the company. And many big companies like google, Microsoft, amazon, JPMC, Goldman Sachs and all come for both placement and internship offers. In my branch more than 90% got the placement and it varies with branch.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
we have fees semester wise and it includes hostel, mess and tuition fees and also the other additional fees. its around 1.3L per semester and it is not increasing. Tuition fees is 1L per semester the overall fees vary with the entry fee in the institute.
Campus Life :
Infrastructure is good and keeps improving every year, there are many sports, technical and cultural clubs, like you will find club for anything you like. Many fests happen around the year and in a large scale like Alcheringa, Techniche , etc.
Hostel Facilities :
It is compulsory to opt for hostel. Infrastructure is good, we are given double occupancy in 1st and 2nd year and single occupancy rooms in 3rd and 4th year. Hostel rooms are allotted by the admin itself. Hostel mess is not that tasty i would say but not bad.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
