- Campus life is overall vibrant. There are active clubs where u can visit on weekend for their weekends sessions .
Dislikes
- Lack of big events and lack of college administration interest and efforts for it
- Placement In some hostels, there are senior that are bit stricts and authoritative. Kept these short since talked about these in details above.
Remarks :
Short Answer: Fees and green campus. Long Answer: Other private colleges would cost around ?20–25 lakhs for 4 years, but here I can complete B.Tech under ?5 lakhs. My thinking is simple—paying more and getting nothing hurts more than paying less and getting nothing; at least I save my parents’ hard-earned money. I got this college through JoSAA/CSAB counselling based on my JEE Mains score. It can also be accessed via TUEE (for Assam students) reservation for Assamese too, or JEE counselling, jossa csab My percentile was 94.7—I could have taken CSE but chose ECE. Even with ~80 percentile, branches like Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil are possible. Good aspects: Nice weather, low fees, green campus, animal-friendly, no night curfew, and freedom for boys and girls to move around campus anytime. Gym canteens , cafeteria, free bus services everything available Bad things: mess foods sometimes, slow administration, no big celebs come for concert events, and doesn't happen either.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Some facilities are passed from the same institute but also there are many facilities from iits and big colleges passout with good research papers published. Teaching method is kind of old and rigid. But its manageable. We can also use labs of departments whenever we want even late night. For exams we have Two sessional exams of 10 marks , one midsem exam of 30 and 50 marks end sem. They are always on time. As per the schedule released at the starting of the year. For some subjects, like analog circuits or signals system, u can say subjects are vast only so there is always a certain type of difficulty with it. But overall from 2nd year exams will be easy to moderate but getting 9cgpa will be still tuff not impossible, bcz out of 65 students 9to10 scored 9 plus cgpa. First year will he very much difficult, lost of classes no free periods and difficult labs, but from second years things easens up a lot.
Internships Opportunities :
No. No direct internship in case of bachelors degree. U can apply to internship to different colleges on their portal but college dont help u with anything. But yeah u can work under teacher, do his assigned work. If ur persistent then he will surely refer u to his colleagues in other iits and nits
Placement Experience :
There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. And its not increasing so far. There are one Or two scholarship to apply from 2year, based on first year cgpa.
Campus Life :
Of all the things, fest is the only things that can be considered lowest of lowest or just negligible in Tezpur university. No big celebs come and just small science fest and fest by engineering sides are conducted that just hosts some coding events, esports and normal sports, no cultural dj nights, no big celebs nothing. Library is good, one is books section and other is self study section with ACs , in books section there are good collection of books and university has purchased journal licences . Yearly there is one big sports event, called annual meet, where hostels compete with each other, in every sports and cultural events, like mime, play, dance, singing, cricket football volleyball, painting, everything things from niche to popular it happens and those are great to watch. Like plays, mime, these are just too good, western classical chorus too, everything There clubs too, like quiz club photography club which are active, u can check Tu photography club on insta.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel fees is included in the semester fees only, its the mess fees that we have to pay monthly that is 2500. Sometimes food is just bad but very few days we have great food too. We get chicken on 3 days and one day egg. Renting pg officially is not possible ig , i mean u can rent but u might have to pay for hostel too.

Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
