Tezpur university: dreams and the reality
Remarks :
The environment, the campus, the hostel are very good. But tution fees is too much for a central university. And the schedule is too hectic. In a semester there are 4 main semester exams are conducted by the university and its too hectic for newcomers. Overall the education is good but too hectic
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is like it focuses on NET and GATE, which is good. But the way teacher teaches those is out dated. Like there is no good use of those high level syllabus ( I'm talking about in my case i.e. chemistry). Some teachers are there(1 or 2) who takes these exams seriously. Also the exams i.e. term exam is very regular. There is a semester schedule where the exam dates are mentioned before starting of the semester and the exam were held at that particular time. So overall its very good.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
When you too the admission you have to pay 22000( in my case i.e. chemistry major) where 5000 is caution money for both university and hostel which is going to be refunded after you completed the course. So in tezpur University you have to take admission in every semester i.e. in a year you have to take admission two time, each time the admission fee is 17700 so in a year it's total 35400. For sc and st category 400 rs is less form the general student i.e. 35000.. About the scholership i didn't knowuch about it because i didn't get any scholership back then and so i have no knowledge about it.
Campus Life :
Campus is very good. Very neat and clean. People's are too supportive. And if you do some extracurricular activity then this university is for you. You will get lodes of opportunities to show your talents. Various group, clubs for e.g: otaku club, volleyball club, busket ball club, music clubs are there. Also two big science fest "techchtra" and "inscignis" are organised by the university.
Hostel Facilities :
Food quality of the mess is decent just like other universities. It's not that high quality but not also worst . The time you enrolled into the university they will provide you a hostel according to the vacancy available.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
