I have not opted for any internship for now and I will prefer to take it at the start of 2nd year. Majority of students will take internship at the end of third year and people prefer to take it in order to get better placements.

Placements were good despite the recession This year 11 - 1+cr jobs offers were received and 90 - 50+ lakhs offers were received highest package was 2.05 cr Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, Benz, etc.. Avg package for btech and bdes was around 25 lakhs I want to do a Master in abroad

I couldn't secure an internship on campus. Many companies come for Internships including Microsoft, Cisco,Goldman Sachs etc, mostly for software roles. There are companies like SLB and JLR who come for core Mechanical and Electrical roles. A few startups also come for Non Tech roles.

I am currently applying for research internships in India and abroad. In India there are internships by TIFR, RRI, Indian Academy of Sciences etc. Internships in research are lowpaying, with around 20,000 per month. For people sitting for the official internship process the internship amount is around at least 80,000 per month. Around 300 people have got internships this year out of thousand people. The highest paying internships are over 10,00,000 for the entire duration of three months. Around four people have gotten such internships. One needs to sit for OAs and then qualify interviews for internships. CV shortlisting is done for only few companies. One needs to have a good coding profile and logical reasoning for coding internships.

Looking at the current scenario above average.high end salriea can be easily attained if you are able to maintain an 8+ cgpa(really easy all you have to do is attend classes , which ofc u might found difficultonce you start living college life) till 4th sem. Even if you are not able to do so one could easily find a job offcampus.

I have got an internship offer at Goldman Sachs for the next summer. It came for SDE and Quant role. They offer internship at Bangalore and Hyderabad office. First we had an online assessment round for both the profiles and then the students were shortlisted on the basis of score in the OA's and then followed by 2-3 interviews.

Placement ration here is very hood and the average package offered is also good comparing to any other private colleges . For mathematics and computing course the average package in 2023 was around 30 lpa

Intership opportunities here at IIT GUWAHATI is decent. Like many companies visit to hire students but they are majorly for circuital and computer science branch students. The roles offered are SDE, product manager, Consultant, etc.

Many companies are to every branch student after setting up an cpi . So if ur branch is not that much good then obviously coding skills will help. Sone branches offer opportunities to go in core where scope is much. Avg package of my branch is 20 lacs which goes up and down in subsequent years.
