DASA 2025 application process is expected to commence in the second week of June, 2025. If you are a NRI, PIO or OCI and wish to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other centrally funded premier technical institutes in India you can fill DASA application form 2025 available online at dasanit.org.

Eligible candidates with a valid JEE Main, GRE, GMAT score will be included in the merit list and considered for DASA counselling 2025 which includes document uploading, choice filling and locking, and seat allotment. DASA seats are allotted on the basis of merit and seat availability in 3 rounds followed by a special round if seats remain vacant.

DASA is conducted annually by one of the participating institutions on a rotational basis. The host institute will release the DASA Brochure 2025 in due course. In 2024, DASA was coordinated by the National Institute of Technology, Raipur, India.

What is DASA?

DASA, or Direct Admission of Students Abroad, is a program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This scheme facilitates the admission of Persons of Indian Origin (POIs) residing abroad, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Children of Indian Workers in Gulf countries (CIWG), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) into undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, and related fields.

DASA 2025 Eligibility Criteria

You should review DASA eligibility criteria before applying for it as it will get rejected otherwise. We have mentioned below the eligibility criteria below:

For Undergraduate Programs

  • Age: If you are born on or after October 1, 1996, you will be eligible to apply. The date of birth listed on the Secondary Education Board/Class 10/equivalent or any government-issued certificate will be considered valid.
  • Residential Requirement: If you are an NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs from any country (including India) and meet the prescribed criteria.
  • Academic Qualification: You must have completed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. You must have studied Mathematics, Physics, and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, or Biotechnology in 11th and 12th grade. Additionally, you should have a valid JEE Main 2025 rank.

For Postgraduate Programs

  • Age: There are no age restrictions.
  • Residential Requirement: You must be a NRI, PIO, or OCI who has completed their undergraduate program in any country (including India).
  • Academic Qualification: You must have completed a 4/5 year undergraduate course in Engineering/Technology or an equivalent discipline relevant to M.Tech., M.Arch., M.Plan., M.Des., or MURP, and have an appropriate undergraduate degree for MBA from a recognized institute/university.
  • Additionally, you must have secured a minimum of 60% marks or a 6.50 CGPA in the last qualifying examination. For M.Tech/M.Plan/M.Arch/M.Des, you must score a minimum of 300 in GRE revised general test (quantitative+verbal).

DASA 2025 Counselling Registration

DASA 2025 counselling process includes several stages such as registration, choice filling, choice locking, and seat allotment. After the seat allotment, you must report to the allotted institute and pay the required fees to secure your seat.

The steps for DASA 2025 counselling are as follows:

  • Visit the official DASA website www.dasanit.org.
  • Register by providing the necessary details.
  • After creating the account successfully, a confirmation email with a link to complete the registration will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID.
  • Enter the applicant ID and password, then click enter to complete the registration.
  • Once registered, login using your credentials and fill out DASA application form.
  • Upload the scanned images of a passport-size photograph and signature in JPG format along with other necessary documents.
  • Pay the required DASA registration fees through SWIFT/E-Payment/NEFT/RTGS transfer. The category-wise DASA application fee have been tabulated below:

Documents Required For DASA 2025 Counselling Registration

The list of documents required for DASA counselling registration 2025 is mentioned below:

  • Your passport (Nepal nationals without a passport must submit a copy of authenticated citizenship)
  • Proof of date of birth
  • Mark sheets of Classes 10, 11, and 12
  • Grade cards of all semesters of the qualifying examination
  • Certificate of completion of schooling/degree/provisional certificate
  • If you are a NRI applicant, you must submit a proof of education for 2 years in a foreign country.
  • For PG programs, proof of residential eligibility (for NRI applicants)
  • JEE Main/GRE/GMAT 2025 scorecard

  • Copy of the passport of a parent working in the Gulf
  • Copy of the parent’s visa, valid in 2025

DASA 2025 Merit List

DASA 2025 merit list will be published by the authorities online on the official website based on the applications submitted.

  • Those who have a relevant GRE, SAT, GMAT, JEE Main score recognised by MNNIT Allahabad will be considered for the merit list and seat allotment process.
  • For UG Courses, DASA merit will be created based on the JEE Main 2025 scores of the applicants.
  • For PG courses, GMAT/GRE 2025 scores will be considered.

DASA 2025 Counselling Process

You will be invited to participate in DASA counselling based on the merit list. Separate DASA merit lists will be released for different courses and you will be assigned seats based on your marks and choices submitted.

DASA 2025 counselling is conducted in multiple rounds for both UG and PG courses:

  • For admission to UG courses, there will be 4 rounds of counselling
  • For admission to PG courses, there will be 2 rounds of counselling .

First Round of DASA Seat Allotment 2025

All eligible candidates are considered for the first round of DASA Counselling. Those who are allotted a seat in this round must confirm their options before the due date. If you are participating in the first round of DASA 2025 seat allotment, you will have the following options:

  • Accept: Select this if you are satisfied with the currently allotted seat and institute and do not want your higher preferences to be considered in round 2. Once accepted on the online portal, the allotted institution, provisional admission letter, and courses will be confirmed.
  • Accept & Upgrade: Select this if you want to accept the allotted seat but also want to be considered in round 2. A provisional letter is generated. If a higher preferred choice is allotted in round 2, the previously allotted seat will be automatically cancelled and the new one will be accepted.
  • Decline: Select this if you do not want to accept the allotted seat or institute. Note: If you press decline, you will not be eligible for further rounds of the DASA 2025 counselling (Round 2, Round 3, and Spot Round).

Seats that remain vacant will be considered for the next round of counselling.

Second Round of DASA Seat Allotment 2025

If you have not been selected in round 1 or have chosen accept & upgrade, you will be considered for round 2. Similar to round 1, you will have the following options in round 2:

  • Accept: Select this if you are satisfied with the allotted seat and do not want to participate in further rounds.
  • Accept & Upgrade: Select this if you want to accept the allotted seat but also want to be considered in round 3.
  • Decline: Select this if you do not want to accept the allotted seat.

Third Round of DASA Seat Allotment 2025

Similar to round 2,this round will be conducted. You will have the option to accept, decline or exit from the counselling process.

Selecting the exit option means you will no longer be part of the counselling process, including the special round, and the full tuition fee is refunded as per the rules. Those who are not allotted a seat in round 3 can choose to exit or participate in the special round.

Internal Sliding in DASA 2025

After the completion of the admission process, internal sliding for vacancies within a particular institute is conducted based on Inter-Se-Merit among all admitted candidates. During this process:

  • To participate in this, you do not need to modify your original choice of branches.
  • The participating institutes will notify about the vacancy after internal sliding.

Special Round in DASA Counselling 2025

Vacant seats following internal sliding are made available for the DASA Special Round Counselling. All those who were not allotted any seats in previous rounds are eligible for the special round.

You must log in to proceed with the special round. Upon logging in, you will have two options:

  • Participate in Special Round: If you are opting for this, you must fill and lock fresh choices specifically for the special round.
  • Exit: Choosing this option means you will no longer be considered for further admission processes.

Reporting to the Allotted Institute

  • If you have been provisionally allotted a seat in the institutes during the first three rounds, you must adhere to the reporting schedule specified on the DASA website.
  • At the time of reporting, submit all required documents/certificates and pay the required fee to secure the seat.
  • Failure to report on time will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.

Visa Requirement

  • All selected foreign nationals must possess a valid student visa corresponding to their category issued by the Indian Missions Abroad.
  • If you are selected, you will be required to produce the provisional admission letter along with other necessary documents and submit them to the Indian Missions in your respective countries to obtain the visa.

Medical Examination

  • You must submit a medical certificate of general fitness from an authorized medical practitioner.
  • Additionally, you will have to undergo a medical fitness test at the time of reporting to the allotted institute. This ensures that all students admitted are physically capable of participating in their chosen course of study.

DASA 2025 Cutoff

The DASA 2025 cutoff will be released by the authorities after the completion of the counselling process. This cutoff list will include the opening and closing ranks (OR-CR) of each participating institute. If you are able to get a rank equal to or within the specified range, you will become eligible for admission in that respective institute. Ques. Can Indian students apply for DASA 2025?

Ans. No, Indian students cannot apply for DASA 2025. DASA is specifically designed for:

  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) residing abroad,
