MSIT Admission Dates 2027

Selection for MSIT B.Tech is handled through GGSIPU centralised counselling on the basis of JEE Main scores. The following schedule for the 2027 intake is tentative. GGSIPU will publish the confirmed timeline on its official admission portal.

MSIT Courses and Fees

MSIT provides full-time undergraduate engineering education in four branches under its GGSIPU affiliation. The regular four-year B.Tech courses together have a sanctioned intake of 600 seats. Diploma and B.Sc graduates may also seek admission directly to the second year through the three-year lateral entry route.

The regular B.Tech fee is INR 1,50,100 per year and is paid semester-wise according to GGSIPU rules. Hostel accommodation and basic facilities cost an additional INR 72,500 to 90,500 per year. Separate blocks provide 200 places for boys and 100 for girls.

The university fee committee may change the approved charges in each academic year. Applicants should confirm the latest amount through the official MSIT or GGSIPU admission portal.

MSIT Admission Process

GGSIPU manages merit-based counselling for MSIT B.Tech admission using JEE Main scores. Centralised counselling fills 90 percent of the seats. The remaining 10 percent are management quota seats processed by the institute.

B.Tech eligibility:

• Applicants must have passed Class 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
• General category students need at least 45 percent marks in PCM.
• SC and ST students need a minimum of 40 percent marks in PCM.
• Applicants must hold a valid JEE Main 2027 score and register it through the GGSIPU admission portal.

Lateral Entry B.Tech eligibility:

• An applicant must have either a three-year engineering diploma from a government-recognised polytechnic or a B.Sc degree that included Mathematics.
• The qualifying examination must have been passed with at least 45 percent aggregate marks.

Steps in GGSIPU counselling:

1. Complete registration on the GGSIPU admission portal and enter the valid JEE Main score and domicile information.
2. GGSIPU creates a combined merit list with separate pools for Delhi-domicile and outside-Delhi applicants.
3. Choose preferred GGSIPU colleges and branches for allotment across multiple counselling rounds.
4. After receiving an allotment, complete document verification and pay the required fee to secure the seat.

MSIT Cutoffs

MSIT cutoffs differ by branch and domicile category. They may also change each year because the number of applicants and the seats available across GGSIPU colleges are not fixed.

MSIT Placements

MSIT benefits from access to recruiters in the Delhi NCR technology corridor and the wider employer network linked with GGSIPU. The 2025 placement season was among the institute's most active, with at least 439 students joining technology, product, and engineering companies.

Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Huawei, ION Trading, Samsung R&D, SAP Labs, ZS Associates, and HSBC were among the major recruiters in 2025. Product-based technology companies generally make the strongest offers to CSE and IT students. ECE graduates enter areas such as embedded systems, IoT, semiconductor design, and telecommunications. EEE students receive opportunities in power systems, automation, and energy companies.

The Training and Placement Cell operates throughout the year. It conducts aptitude preparation, mock interviews, industry-readiness sessions, and coding bootcamps. Some graduates continue to postgraduate study at IITs, NITs, or universities outside India through GATE, GRE, and GMAT. The cell supports these students with coaching material and guidance from alumni.

MSIT Rankings

National assessments have recognised MSIT for its engineering programmes and institutional standards. Ranking bodies consider areas such as research, faculty, graduation results, and industry engagement. Its #34 India Today B.Tech rank in 2025 reflects its placement record and links with employers among private engineering colleges in India.

MSIT Scholarships

MSIT students may seek scholarships and fee assistance offered under central government schemes and GGSIPU rules. Income, domicile, and category certificates should be kept ready during admission so that applications can be submitted on time.

• Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships (CSSS): Students from non-creamy-layer families may apply if their Class 12 board score was above the 80th percentile. The award is INR 10,000 per year for the first three years and INR 20,000 per year after that.
• Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for SC, ST, OBC, and EBC Students: Students belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward class, or economically backward class families can receive full or partial tuition reimbursement when household income is below the prescribed limit. Applications are made through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
• Delhi Government Scholarships: Domicile students at GGSIPU-affiliated colleges can apply for Delhi government fee support. Eligible groups include SC, ST, OBC, and economically weaker section students. The support pays part of the tuition and other fees.
• Merit-Based Incentives under GGSIPU Norms: Under GGSIPU provisions, students placed at the top of the centralised counselling merit list may receive recognition and incentives. Availability depends on the university's notification for that year.

Most central scholarship applications begin when the academic year starts and are submitted through scholarships.gov.in. Students should apply during the first week of classes to reduce the risk of missing a deadline.

MSIT Campus and Infrastructure

MSIT operates from an 8-acre eco-friendly campus in C-4 block, Janakpuri, West Delhi. Public transport links the campus with central Delhi and the wider NCR. Janakpuri East Metro Station on the Blue Line is within walking distance.

The four engineering departments have dedicated laboratories. CSE and IT students work in computing labs equipped with high-performance systems and network facilities. ECE facilities include laboratories for VLSI design, communication, and microprocessors. EEE laboratories support work in electrical machines, power electronics, and control systems. The central library provides print and digital resources, journal subscriptions, and access to research databases.

Boys and girls live in separate hostel blocks. The boys hostel can house 200 students, while the girls hostel has space for 100 students. Annual charges range from INR 72,500 to 90,500 and include the room, mess, and basic services. Digital attendance and security systems are used in the hostel buildings.

Students can use outdoor courts, a gymnasium, and a student activity centre. The institute holds a technical festival each year along with cultural programmes. IEEE and other professional student chapters organise industry interactions, workshops, and hackathons throughout the academic session.

MSIT vs MAIT vs BPIT

Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (MSIT), Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT), and Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology (BPIT) are private engineering colleges in Delhi affiliated with GGSIPU. Each uses the university's centralised admission counselling. Students can compare their locations, engineering recognition, fees, and facilities before setting college and branch preferences.

For all three colleges, allotment mainly depends on JEE Main rank and domicile category. MSIT combines an India Today B.Tech 2025 rank of #34 with NBA accreditation for all four departments. It also offers Blue Line metro access from its central West Delhi location. MAIT and BPIT are in Rohini and can be reached through the Red and Yellow Lines. MSIT has 360 seats across CSE and IT, giving applicants more availability in these branches during counselling rounds.
