Part-A shortlisting is announced before the final result because only shortlisted candidates' Part-B booklets are evaluated. Download your Part-A responses before result declaration; response access is disabled once results are announced.

How to Download the UCEED Scorecard

1. Open the UCEED 2027 candidate portal.
2. Sign in with the user login and password created during registration.
3. Open the result when it is announced on 6 March.
4. Download the scorecard during 10 March-31 July and save a copy.

All candidates who appeared can download a scorecard. Hard copies are not issued, and email requests do not replace downloading through the portal. The office keeps digital scorecards for up to five years, but the candidate download window still ends on 31 July.

A missing Part-B score is not necessarily a download error. If the Part-A shortlist condition was not met, the Part-B booklet is not evaluated. Likewise, a total score does not itself mean a qualifying rank has been awarded.

UCEED Part-A Shortlisting Cutoff 2027

The Part-A shortlisting measure is calculated from the marks of all candidates who appeared. Let M be the mean Part-A score and S its standard deviation. The OPEN measure is D = M + S/2; the mean, standard deviation and measure are rounded to two decimal places.

The formula is only the first step. If no more than 6,400 candidates meet the category-wise measures, those measures become the cutoffs. Otherwise, the top 6,400 candidates are considered, while maintaining the OBC-NCL/EWS and SC/ST/PwD minimum-score relationships of 0.9 and 0.5 to OPEN. Candidates tied at the boundary are also shortlisted, so the final count can be slightly above 6,400.

Illustration, not a predicted cutoff: if the mean were 60 and the standard deviation 20, D would be 70. The initial measures would be 70 for OPEN, 63 for OBC-NCL/EWS and 35 for SC/ST/PwD. The 6,400-candidate rule would still need to be applied before treating those figures as final cutoffs.

Part-A shortlisting will be announced on 4 February 2027. There is no fixed 2027 Part-A qualifying mark that can be calculated before the candidates' actual performance is available.

UCEED Part-B Qualifying Marks

You must first be shortlisted through Part A and then score at least your category's Part-B minimum. A high Part-A score cannot compensate for falling below the Part-B cutoff.

Example: an OPEN candidate who is shortlisted in Part A but scores 14 in Part B does not qualify. A Part-B score of 15 meets that stage's minimum. The rank then depends on the combined score, not on the Part-B minimum alone.

UCEED Rank List and Tie-Breaking

The final total is Part A + Part B, out of 300 marks. Only candidates who qualify both stages are assigned a rank.

Age, Class 12 percentage and MCQ marks are not extra tie-break steps in this published sequence. Two candidates with the same total can have different ranks because of their Part-B or section-wise marks.

How Part B Is Evaluated

Part B contains drawing and design-aptitude responses. Each question is assessed independently by at least two expert examiners, without the candidate's identity being visible. The response is judged against the criteria stated in the question rather than a single model solution.

If the two marks differ by no more than 10, their average is used. A larger difference leads to further independent evaluation. The closest two assessments within the permitted difference are averaged; a moderator is involved if the difference remains unresolved.

Re-evaluation, re-grading and re-totalling are not available for either part. Evaluated Part-B booklets are not shared with candidates and are retained for three months from result declaration. Draft Part-A key comments belong to the earlier answer-key window; they are not a post-result recheck service.

Qualifying Cutoff vs College Closing Rank

The qualifying cutoffs decide whether you receive a UCEED rank. A college closing rank is the last rank admitted for a particular institute, category and allocation round. These answer different questions.

Admission also depends on your eligible subject combination, institute preferences and seats available. Do not read the OPEN Part-B minimum of 15 as the score needed for IIT Bombay or another institute. It is only one qualification threshold.

Historical closing ranks can be compared only with the correct category and round. A previous year's closing rank is not an assured 2027 allotment, and a total score alone cannot establish your future rank without the current candidate results.

BDes Admission After the UCEED Result

Candidates seeking the participating BDes programmes must apply separately between 15 March and 12 April 2027. The joint process covers IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur.

The acceptance payment is INR 65,000 for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL or INR 20,000 for SC/ST/PwD, including the INR 5,000 processing charge. Not paying by the allotted round's deadline cancels the seat and further-round participation.

The UCEED 2027 rank is for admission in academic year 2027-28. It is not carried forward as a valid rank for a later admission year.
