Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay has released the UCEED 2026 eligibility criteria. To be eligible for the exam, you must meet all the qualifying requirements. If any candidates whose criteria are not met at any phase of the admission procedure, then their admission will be canceled.

• This year, UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026. ​

You must pass your class 10+2 or equivalent exam in the year 2025 or appear for the exam in 2026. You can be from any Board and study any stream in the qualifying exam. Candidates appearing for the boards before 2023 are not eligible for the exam. You can take UCEED consecutively for two years only. Candidates from General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories must be born on or after October 1, 2000. For SC, ST, and PWD candidates, candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1995.

UCEED 2026 List of Exams for Elgibility

Candidates who have registered for the examination must be eligible. It varies for Indian and foreign nationals; a list for each is provided below. For further clarification, it is also suggested that candidates review the UCEED 2026 reservation criteria, which are posted on the official website.

For Indian Nationals

The list of prerequisite exams for Indian nationals meeting the UCEED 2026 eligibility requirements is shown below.

• The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or the Central or State Boards are responsible for organizing or accrediting the 10+2 system's final exam.
• The National Institute of Open Schooling will host the Senior Secondary School Examination, a two-year course requiring a minimum of five disciplines, for the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
• two years of intermediate Association of Indian Universities (AIU)-recognized Board or University-sponsored pre-university examination
• Examining for the H.S.C. vocational
• a three-year minimum diploma from a State Board of Technical Education or the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

For Foreign Nationals

The list of prerequisite exams for foreign nationals meeting the UCEED 2026 eligibility requirements is shown below.

• The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognizes any public school, board, or university test taken in India or a foreign country as being equivalent to the 10+2 system.
• Advanced (A) Level General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka)
• Cambridge University's High School Certificate Examination or the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate Office's diploma are two options.

UCEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria B.Des Program

The qualifying exam, often known as the Class 12 board exam or an equivalent, should have been passed by the candidate in 2024 or 2026. Candidates who are taking their qualifying exam in 2026 (grade 12 or equivalent) should follow a few rules.

• By the day of registration in the admitting institute, they had finished all components of their final test.
• The admitting institute receives documentation demonstrating successful completion of the qualifying exam and eligibility.
• Consider a qualifying board test that simply assigns letter grades and doesn't indicate passing marks on the grade sheet. The candidate must download the grade sheet and the board's certificate indicating a passing grade.
• Candidates from other countries, including holders of Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)/People of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are regarded as falling under the Open category and will not be given any exceptions. The criteria are applicable "in toto" to all candidates, including foreign nationals, as stated above. There are too many seats reserved for visitors.

UCEED 2026 Reservation Criteria

The table below shows the number of seats reserved for UCEED 2026 by category:

• There will be 5% horizontal reservations for candidates who identify as PwD.
• Candidates who meet the RPwD Act of 2016's baseline disability requirements are eligible for reservation in this category.
• If there are any open PwD seats, they will be reallocated to the appropriate category.
