JEE Main cutoff for the top NITs 2026 is yet to be released. JoSAA will release the JEE Main NIT cutoff 2026 on the official website after each counselling round. You can check the cutoff for each NIT and course once released.
- JEE Main cutoff for NITs is generally higher from NIT Trichy than other top NITs.
- For CSE at NIT Trichy, the expected JEE Main cutoff is likely to be around 203-220.
- For ECE and EEE at NIT Trichy, you can expect the JEE Main cutoff of around 180-203 and 175 to 194, respectively.
- JEE Main CSE cutoff at other top NITs is likely to be around 180 at NIT Surat, 170-17 at NIT Durgapur, 194 at NIT Jaipur, 180 to 203 at NIT Rourkela, and 180-186 at NIT Kurukshetra.

Expected JEE Main Safe Score 2026 for NITs
“Harsh Sir”, Vedantu JEE Made Ejee expert shared an analysis of JEE Main expected safe score for NITs. He analysed the JEE Main previous years’ cutoff and gave the expected cutoff for NITs as listed in the table below.

JEE Main Cutoff for Top NITs: Marks vs Percentile
JEE Main marks vs percentile depends on the difficulty level of the JEE Main exam and the number of students who appeared in the examination.
- This year, 99 percentile in JEE Main is likely to translate to around 155-171 marks in JEE Main 2026.
- To get 99.5 percentile in JEE Main, you need a JEE Main score of around 176-193 marks.
- For 99.9 percentile, your JEE Main score must be around 219 to 234 marks.
- For admission to NITs, you must score more than 98 percentile score in JEE Main.
- For top NITs, your score should be above 99 percentile in JEE Main 2026.

As per the official JEE Main cutoff for top NITs in 2024, the closing rank for NIT Trichy was 4178 for CSE, and for ECE and EEE, it was 6799 and 9043, respectively, in round 1.
- CSE cutoff at NIT Surathkal was 2628, and at NIT Warangal was 2698.
- NIT Rourkela and NIT Calicut had relatively lower cutoffs than other top NITs, with CSE closing ranks of 7801 and 8965, respectively.
