What's New in JEE Main 2026?
There will be two rounds of CSAB NEUT counselling. A special round will be held for students who may not have secured a seat in the initial JoSAA or CSAB counselling rounds, providing them with another chance to get admissions. Approximately 2000 seats are expected under the North Eastern state quota for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs and 740 seats from all over India in the NEUT category.
Within the total seats available for NEUT students,
- 50% seats are reserved for state quota ensuring students can get admissions within their state
- 50% are reserved for other states quota, making sure NEUT students can get admissions to prestigious institutes in other states as well.
The CSAB NEUT counselling rounds help allocate seats in many engineering colleges across India. It is a special program that reserves seats for students from North-Eastern states and Union Territories, where there may not be enough college opportunities. It gives students from these areas a better chance to get admission to undergraduate degree courses in AICTE approved institutions.

CSAB NEUT 2025 Counselling Dates and Schedule
CSAB NEUT Counselling is expected to be scheduled from June 2025 to July 2025. Students can participate in the counselling process through the Official Website. CSAB NEUT Counselling 2025 will have two rounds.
Round 1:
- In Round 1 eligible candidates need to register on the CSAB NEUT Portal and fill in their preferred college choices.
- Seats are then allotted to the candidates according to their JEE Main 2025 rank. Documents are verified and counselling fees is to be paid.
- Candidates who accept their seats have to report to the allotted institutes.
Round 2:
- In Round 2, a list of vacant seats is displayed on the CSAB NEUT Portal. Students who did not get a seat in the first or wanted an upgrade on their allotted seats can participate in this round.
- In this round students can modify their seat choices according to the available seats. Seats are then allotted after considering all the updated choices and number of seats remaining.
- Candidates then have to report to the allotted institute and complete the admission process by submitting the necessary documents and fees.

JEE Main 2025 CSAB NEUT Counselling Cutoff (Expected)
The cutoff for CSAB NEUT 2025 has not been announced yet. There are many factors which influence the CSAB NEUT Counselling Cutoff such as:
- Number of applicants from the eligible NEUT regions. Higher the number of applicants, higher is the level of competition.
- The number of seats reserved for each State/UT and institutes affect the cutoffs. Limited number of seats lead to higher cutoffs.
- Popular courses have higher cutoffs than less popular courses. For example: Computer Science and Engineering will have a higher cutoff than Civil Engineering.

CSAB NEUT Counselling Previous Year Cutoffs
The CSAB NEUT Counselling cutoffs change every year due to various factors such as the number of applicants that year, number of available seats and candidate’s course preferences. As the CSAB NEUT Cutoff for 2025 is not yet released, candidates can view the cutoffs from previous years to have an idea of what to expect for 2025.

JEE Main 2025 CSAB NEUT Counselling Eligibility Criteria
The CSAB NEUT Counselling involves two rounds: Round 1 and Round 2.

No, CSAB Neut Counselling is not only for students from North Eastern states but also for students in the Union Territories of India.

To access the CSAB NEUT Counselling Portal, the candidate needs to login with their JEE Main 2025 application number and password. By logging in, the candidate can register for counselling, fill their choices and track the seats allotment results.
Review and Submit
The candidates must review their details before submitting their application to avoid any problems during the further counselling process. After reviewing, submit the application.
Upload the required documents
Candidates need to upload all the required documents such as: proof of domicile, educational qualification, category certificates(if any) and few others for verification. When the documents are verified, only then the candidate can move further in the counselling process.

JEE Main 2025 CSAB NEUT Counselling: Registration
This application process is conducted by CSAB to facilitate admissions to various National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) under the NEUT quota.
- Candidates should register on the CSAB Portal.
- JEE Main Roll Number and Password required for Engineering and Architecture students.
- Create login and password through a separate link available on the CSAB portal for Pharmacy students.

The CSAB NEUT fee structure is according to the candidate’s category and the type of counselling process they are going through. The candidates need to submit the required fees on time to ensure smooth counselling and admissions.
- Registration is free of cost for the CSAB NEUT eligible students.
- Candidates have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) to confirm their allotted seats.
