The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer JEE Mains 2026 Session 2 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 April and Paper 2 (BArch/BPlanning) on 7 April 2026. JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines 

For Diabetic Candidates

The JEE Main exam day guidelines for diabetic candidates are a little different from other candidates. NTA has allowed diabetic candidates to carry eatables in the exam hall. Eatables like sugar tablets/ fruits (like bananas/apples/oranges) are allowed inside the exam hall for candidates having diabetes.

Candidates are not allowed to carry packed food like chocolate/candy/sandwich in the exam hall, whether he/she is diabetic or not.

JEE Main 2026 Dress Code

The National Testing Agency has decided a dress code for the JEE Main exam. The dress codes are decided to ensure a fair and smooth exam process. The following guidelines must be followed by the candidates regarding the JEE Main 2026 dress code:

• Candidates should wear light and comfortable clothing that does have large buttons, badges, or thick fabrics.
• Sleeveless and transparent clothing are not allowed to be worn in the exam hall.
• Light, Comfortable Clothing: Wear light and comfortable clothing that does not have large buttons, badges, or thick fabrics.
• No Sleeveless or Transparent Clothing: Sleeveless or transparent clothing is not allowed.
• Full-Sleeve T-Shirts/Shirts: If worn, they should be thin and lightweight.
• Avoid Shoes: Wear simple sandals or slippers without thick soles. Shoes with large heels, platforms, or belts should be avoided.
• Jewelry and Accessories: No jewelry or metallic accessories (such as rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc.) are allowed inside the examination hall.
• Watches: Electronic watches, smartwatches, and any other electronic devices are strictly prohibited.
• Caps/Hats: Candidates should not wear caps or hats during the examination.
• Face Masks: Candidates are required to wear face masks as per safety protocols.

Items Allowed Inside JEE Main 2026 Exam Centre

NTA allows the following items to be brought into the examination hall:

• JEE Main 2026 Admit Card
• A self-attested undertaking downloaded from NTA website
• Passport size photograph as uploaded on the online application form
• PwD certificate if it is applicable to you
• A valid ID card such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, etc.
• Ballpoint pen
• Transparent water bottle
• If you are attempting JEE Main Paper 2A (B. Arch) ‘drawing test’ then carry the required stationary.

Items Prohibited Inside JEE Main 2026 Exam Centre

Before reaching the centre, you must ensure that you are not carrying any of the following items:

• Any electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, etc.
• Stationary items (except if you are attempting B.Arch Paper 2A ‘drawing test’ and a simple ballpoint pen)
• Eatables
• Bags/wallets/watches
• Any bits of paper or written text

JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines: PwD Candidates and Scribe

If a physical limitation occurs and makes it essential for you to take the facility of a scribe, read the guidelines below:

• Compensatory time of 1 hour will be given in every 3-hour exam to all PwD candidates, irrespective of their using the facility of a scribe or not
• A scribe will only be allowed to read the questions or key in answers. No scribe shall explain questions or suggest solutions.
• You must cooperate with the verification process to use the PwD reservation. If at any stage it is found that you do not qualify for the reservation, your candidature will be cancelled.

Violation of JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines

Any violation of JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines by indulging in unfair practices such as using copying material, providing fabricated documents, assisting others in cheating among others will lead to direct cancellation of your result. NTA will also debar you from attempting the JEE Main exam for 3 consecutive years. At times, there might be a criminal action taken against the offender.
