Life in UIET Kanpur
Remarks :
UIET is one of the best engineering colleges in my city and it is near my home too. It is situated in a very good location. UIET fee is in the very affordable range and in this college, there are too many scholarship opportunities. UIET also conducts many games and extracurricular activities for students and provides career services and academic support also help the students in grabbing internship opportunities. For my course (BCA), UIET doesn't conduct any Group Discussions, Interviews, or Written Tests for admission. There is a direct merit-based admission procedure in BCA. UIET takes admission for BCA based on class 12th results and there is a cut-off procedure.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose the BCA Course because there are a lot of opportunities in the field of Computer and these opportunities are increasing with time in the future. There are qualified faculties present, all of them are professors and assistant professors and the teaching style of faculties is quite good (6 out of 10). In my Course within a gap of two months there a term exams scheduled and the difficulty level is moderate but the end exams of the semester are tough in difficulty level. The hike in fee is very low every year, there is only a hike of 4 to 5 percent maximum. The cost of study is quite low compared to other colleges. UIET provides UP Government scholarship and scholarship opportunities to students from the find of college. UP Government scholarship is provided to almost every student.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for placement depend upon the companies but the minimum you have to score an overall CGPA of 8.0 out of 10. Some top recruiters are IBM, TCS, Wipro, Dell, Accenture, etc. 50 offers are made by these companies. The highest package offered by the company is 7 LPA and the average package offered by the company is 3 LPA. The percentage of students who are getting placements is 40 %.
Campus Life :
In October, the UIET students conducted the cultural festival of the Institute named Spandan. In this students get a chance to display their talent in Music, Dance, Plays, Printing, etc. This fest is conducted for 1 week and there are too many other fest conducted by the students every two- to three months named TechFest, TechMart, etc. There is a very huge library which contains 100000+ books and journals. The amenities in the classroom are quite nice. Tables, chairs, blackboard, and digital board all things are present in a good manner. UIET conducts a lot of extracurricular activities like playing video games, painting, treasure hunting, dancing, singing, and many more. And too many inter-department sports competitions and activities are also conducted there. There are too many social groups and clubs run and managed by students for themselves like hobby clubs, Coding Club, AL&ML Club, Robotics Club, Culture Clubs, etc. I don't live in hostels and PGs.

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
