Particular areas of expertise for the Saint Mary's History Department include Atlantic Canada and Quebec, East Asia, the Americas, Britain, and Europe from the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries. Small and friendly, the one-year MA in History program accepts both full-time and part-time students. Because of the small enrollment, faculty members can dedicate their time and efforts to helping each master's student develop their research skills. Fellowships are generously offered. There are also opportunities to work as instructional assistants.
