Students completing this nine-month program will be prepared for entry-level apprenticeships in four trades: heavy-duty equipment technician, diesel engine mechanic, truck and transport mechanic, and transport trailer technician.
Students participate in a range of shop and classroom activities. In the classroom, they study the theoretical underpinnings of vehicle mechanics. They put their knowledge to use in the shop, where they carry out a variety of diagnostic tests, carry out preventative maintenance, and remove, fix, and install parts on trucks, heavy machinery, and commercial transport vehicles.
