A.P. Sen Memorial Girls College was first set up as The Mahakali Pathshala with the purpose of educating children in their mother tongue, Bengali. Over time, with changes in its name and academic direction, the institution became the first women's college to receive affiliation from the University of Lucknow.
The college works with the aim of continuously improving the knowledge base of its students and preparing smart, responsible graduates who can pursue suitable positions in their chosen fields of work.

The college campus covers 2.45 acres and has a built-up area of 3860 sq.mts. Academic facilities include 15 classrooms and 5 computers with internet access. Its library occupies 2820 sq. ft., can seat 80 students, and has 516 textbooks and reference books. The campus is located within a walking distance of half km. from Charbagh Railway Station.
