Sammilani Mahavidyalaya, Kolkata, West Bengal was founded in 1996 as a public educational institution to provide higher education to build a career in the fields of humanities, science, and commerce. Sammilani Mahavidyalaya is affiliated with the famous NAACB. 

The college runs a BA/B.Sc./B.Com Honors and General Courses lasting 3 years BA/B.Sc. The honors course has seven specializations while the BA/B.Sc. general courses have two and four specializations respectively. The selection of candidates is based on merit in the qualifying examination.
