Sonamukhi College is a self-financed educational institution located in Bankura, West Bengal. It offers three-year undergraduate general and Honors courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science. A Choice Based Credit System is adopted throughout the six semesters in around 17 courses. The college adopts an online registration procedure for admissions. Admissions to graduate courses require applicants to secure the minimum passing marks at the 10+2 level (including the aggregate of five marks). Candidates have the option to opt for a maximum of four Honors subjects during the admissions.

Sonamukhi College: Scholarships

Students from economically weaker backgrounds are provided scholarships funded through State Government and other agencies like:

  • Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship 
  • Handicapped Scholarship
  • Konyashri Scheme for Women and Minority Scholarship.

Freeships 

Besides this, a free ship is extended to 10% to 20% of the total number of students as per their needs. First-year students who qualify for the same are eligible for a waiver of tuition fees for six months. Second and third-year students can avail the free ship for three months during first phase admission. 

They can apply for it again during the second phase when the college deposits the tuition fee for six months for first-year students and nine months for second and third-year students.

Sonamukhi College follows a policy to divide the full free ship of twelve months into half. It also plans to extend scholarships to students who excel in sports and cultural activities in the college or become State or National level sportspersons while in college.
