Established in 1988, JD Institute of Fashion Technology is a private institute, affiliated to Bengaluru Central University. The college offers UG, PG and Diploma courses in streams like Fashion Design, Interior Design, Jewellery Design, Graphic Design, Event Management Courses, Photography Courses, and Hair and Makeup Courses.

The three-year BSc in Fashion and Apparel Design is the flagship course here. Admissions to this course is solely based on merit. The total fees of this program is Rs 7.5 Lakhs. Lateral entry to this course is available too. Other UG courses offered here are BVA and BDes. Under PG courses, the institute offers MA, MBA, MSc and Postgraduate Diploma.

In 2024, India Today ranked the institute at 19, while Outlook ranked it at 6 for Fashion Design. The Week ranked JD Institute of Technology Bangalore at 8 for Fashion Technology, in the same year. The IIRF ranked the institute for Design at 36, in 2024.
