Rajiv Gandhi, is a premier institute governed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation acts as the head of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy. Apart from Indian nationals, many foreign nationals have undergone pilot training at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy that includes Afghanistan, Nepal, Zambia, Mauritius, Seychelles, etc. IGRUA also provides pilot training to aspiring officers of the Indian Airforce, Indian Coast Guard, Indian Airlines, BSF, Indian Navy, etc. Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy has achieved over 70% placement record in the last five years i.e., from 2015 to 2020.

For admission to its CPL course, aspiring candidates have to go through a selection procedure comprising of three stages. Candidates need to qualify for each stage to be eligible for the next stage. The second stage comprises of Pilot Aptitude Test and the last stage includes Interview. CPL and B.Sc. Aviation are the only two courses offered by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy. The CPL course if of tenure of 24 months and is recognized by DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and Government of India whereas the B.Sc. (Aviation) is recognized by Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, and the duration of B.Sc. Aviation is 3 years.

  • The candidate should be of 17 years of age at the commencement of the program.
  • Candidates should have cleared 10+2 with Maths, Physics, and English.

Candidates have to go through a three-stage examination process in order to secure admission to Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy.

Stage 1: Candidates will have to qualify online Entrance examination conducted across major cities of India.

Stage 2: candidates who have qualified for the Entrance examination will be required to go through Pilot Aptitude Test.
