Established in 2019, The Audio Guys Institute (TAG), Mumbai, is a private institute specialising in sound engineering and music production. TNS Audio Guys Private Limited operates the institute, which also acts as the Skill Knowledge Partner for 2 UGC-recognised degree programmes awarded by HSNC University, Mumbai.

Applications are open for the October 2026 intake of diploma programmes and three-month certificates. The Live Sound and Music Production certificates begin in January 2027, followed by the B.Sc and BA programmes in July 2027. TAG Mumbai Programmes and Fees

TAG offers courses lasting from 3 months to 3 years. Certificate programmes cover Sound Engineering, Music Production, Live Sound, Advanced Music Production and Advanced Audio Production. Diploma and advanced diploma options focus on sound engineering and music production, while HSNC University awards the two undergraduate degrees.

TAG Mumbai Eligibility and Application Process

Admission follows 4 steps, beginning with an enquiry and ending with fee payment. TAG does not require a national entrance examination or prescribe an entrance-exam cutoff. Counselling and an application form are part of the process, with an aptitude test or interview where applicable. Previous studio experience is not compulsory for most programmes.

Diploma and Advanced Diploma Eligibility

The 4 diploma programmes have similar basic entry requirements. Music production applicants are also expected to have some foundation in music.

• Applicants must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification.
• Basic proficiency in English and Hindi is preferred.
• Some knowledge of sound engineering is beneficial for sound engineering diplomas.
• Experience as a performing musician is an advantage for music production diplomas.

Undergraduate Degree Eligibility

HSNC University awards the B.Sc in Sound Engineering and BA in Music Production, while TAG provides the practical skill training as its Skill Knowledge Partner. HSNC is a public cluster university established under the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016.

Certificate Eligibility

A Class 12 pass is sufficient for the beginner certificates in Sound Engineering and Music Production. Advanced certificate applicants need a TAG beginner certificate or equivalent knowledge. The Certificate in Advanced Audio Production is intended for working professionals developing their skills in Dolby Atmos and OTT mixing.

TAG Mumbai Placements and Industry Training

TAG does not publish placement salary packages. Its programmes provide industry exposure through an internship in the advanced diplomas and an industry placement during the final semester of the degrees.

The fully air-conditioned campus occupies Plot 23, Shah Industrial Estate, off Veera Desai Road in Andheri West. Alongside its 5 professional studios, it provides a Mac computer lab, 2 classrooms equipped with studio monitors and MIDI keyboards, and a venue for live sound practice.

• Studio A houses a Midas M32 console, outboard equipment and Neumann monitoring.

• Studio C is the flagship studio, combining a 32-channel SSL Origin console with Genelec monitoring and outboard equipment from API, SSL and Shadow Hills.
• Studio D provides a compact space for editing and premixing, with Genelec monitoring.
• Studio E supports music production with a Genelec 8260A, Universal Audio interfaces and analog synthesisers.
• The practice venue contains a DiGiCo console, d&b loudspeakers, and Shure and Sennheiser RF microphones.

TAG describes its facility as India's first smart campus for audio education. Network-based software licensing and a student learning portal support its teaching environment. TAG Mumbai Scholarships and Financial Support

Merit scholarships are available across TAG's 4 diploma programmes, with awards determined through a written MCQ aptitude test and a personal interview. Applicant scores are shared. The scholarships are intended for diploma students whose annual family income is below INR 9 Lakhs, and awards range from INR 75,000 to INR 1,00,000.
