On November 29, 2022, students from the Postgraduate (PG) 2020-22 and Undergraduate (UG) 2019-22 batches graduated during the 5th Annual Convocation held at Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar. The Convocation was presided over by Dr. P K Mishra, IAS (Retired), Former Secretary, Govt. of India, and Chairman, Board of Governors. Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Honorable Member of Parliament and Founder, KIIT & KISS, presided over the event as Chief Guest. Honorary Doctor of Letters degree was awarded to him (Honoris Causa).

Prof. Samanta, in his Convocation Address, argued that schools should assist students in honing talents that will serve them well in their future careers. He told the class that if they wanted to succeed in life, they needed to adopt a more altruistic mindset, one that was characterised by compassion, humility, and idealism.

The Birla Global University annual report summarising the institution's activities and future objectives was presented by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. P. Mathur.

The Birla School of Management's Dean, Professor P. Nayak, the Birla School of Commerce's Dean, Professor Samson Moharana, the Dean of the Birla School of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Dean of the Birla School of Law's, Professor L. K. Deb, and the Head of the Birla School of Communication, Professor S. S. Das, presented their respective schools' lists of graduates to the Chairman. Dr. B.K. Das, Registrar of Birla Global University, presided over the Commencement Exercises.

Dr. Manas Kumar Pal, Controller of Examinations, presented the diplomas to the Chancellor.

Golden torches were bestowed upon MBA's Ananyaa Saktiroopa (Batch Topper & Finance Area Topper), Sambedna Mohanty (Human Resource Area Topper), and Nandini Samal (Marketing Area Topper).

S K Izhan Fazle from M.Com, Okram Chinglemba Meetei from MA Economics (H), Ishani Acharya from LLM and area topper in Corporate Law, and Ebin Emersion from Criminal Law all received gold medals for their respective achievements.

Saloni Sahani (BBA), Rajdeep Seth (BBA)–DM, Mahendera Pranav Bhaskar (BBA)–BA, Ankita Moharana (BAJMC)–Honors), Ritika Kumari (BCom), and Prarthana Saha (BA Economics)–Honors all received gold medals. Saloni Sahani, a BBA student, was also recognised as the year's top graduate.
