On November 25, 2023, Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar held its 6th annual convocation for its PG 2021-23 and UG 2020-23 batch of students. The Chief Guest for this occasion was Shri SP Shukla, Chairman of Mahindra Defence & Aerospace, Mahindra Agri & Micro-irrigation, CIE Automotive India & President Society of Indian Defence Manufactures while Shri Sudarshan Pattnaik, International sand artist and a Padma Shri Awardee was the guest of honour. On this momentous occasion, Shri SP Shukla, and Shri Sudarshan Pattnaik were awarded their honorary degree of D. Litt. (Honoris Causa) for their illustrious contributions in their respective field of work.

Smt. Jayashree Mohta, Chairperson, Birla Global University and Birla Academy of Art & Culture presided over the Convocation. She addressed the gathering and said that the University has grown by leaps and bounds with a lot of students opting BGU for Higher Education and it is due to the University’s continuous efforts over time leading to several major achievements in placements and academics.

Prof Archana Choudhary coordinated the convocation ceremony. Registrar Dr. B.K. Das conducted this ceremony.

Shri Sriprakash Shukla offered his congratulations to all the postgraduate and undergraduate students who received their degrees at this event. In his address, he outlined the importance of work-life balance and said that as a colleague one must acknowledge the importance of teamwork and develop a collaborative approach among the team members. He put emphasis on the need to appear dependable, especially in an organisation.

The inauguration ceremony for the Convocation began with lamp lighting and a welcome address and presentation of the Annual Report by Prof (Dr) P.P. Mathur, Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University followed. The gold medals and degrees were presented by the Chairman and other honourable guests to the students. The ceremony was attended by the Board of Governors, Board of Management, Faculties, Students, and their parents.
