A TRUE REVIEW ABOUT MY COLLEGE

- The best thing i liked about the college was its faculty . They were so kind and always ready to help regrading topic. There way of explanation of topic was always practical . They never pressurizes us to have notes mandatory instead tells us to focus on the project and gain practical knowledge. The most important quality of all faculty members of my department was that they never misses any lecture and always treat every students equally.
- Secondly what i like most about my college is the infrastructure of the college . It is so well designed that one can found it beautiful . There is a proper drainage system, street lights, proper road in whole campus, availability of ambulance , banks of SBI and BOB , etc. The building of arts faculty is proper example of traditional form and FCI building a example of modern from . That's the speciality of the campus that it is a mixture of both forms of infrastructure . The whole is campus is so big that one cannot cover it through walking, There is also availability of courts of volleyball , badminton , etc which i liked the most.
Dislikes
- The main thing which i disliked the most is the lack events. Every student wants to enjoy there campus life while studying but in this campus only focus is paid on academics . There are many restrictions in the college like can not organise any event win the class and department without the permission of VC . The attendance rule is very hated as even in the last year of college it was mandatory to have 75% attendance else will not be allowed to appear in the examination
- Secondly i disliked most about the college was its dress policy. It was mandatory for the students of IPS building to wear common dress (black pant and sky blue shirt with University of Allahabad badge) and the rest of the students of different departments were allowed to wear casual. There were fine system if caught wearing casual.
Remarks :
The factors to choose this college was that it's degree has very much importance and influence . Also the reputation of this college and the faculty is the major reason to join this class. The good aspect of this college is that everyone gets equal exposure to express themselves and the campus is ragging free. The faculty is supporting and serious about the academics. The bad aspects are like mandatory 75% attendance else will be debarred from giving semester exam, lack of cultural events , many restrictions on extra curricular activities. To take admission in this college , one has to give IPS examination organised by University of Allahabad and after that cutoff is been released for different categories as quota for seat is been provided for SC/ST , OBC and EWS students. The general cutoff marks are generally high as nearly above 170+ is been assumed as safe and other category cutoff are generally between 120-142. I have prepared myself by solving last year papers and lucent GK book.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is designed very smartly as it includes all industry related content which makes you job ready. Like in our syllabus topics like DSA , WEB DEVELOPMENT ,SDLC, SQL, DATABSE, etc were included which was very helpful in securing jobs just after graduation. I have chosen BCA because i was very clear about my career and this course was best as it graduates me in 3 years and it contains all syllabus i intend to study. The faculty is highly qualified and each faculty member is having minimum 10 years of experience of teaching and have qualified NET JRF examination to become professor. Their teaching method is mostly practical and never relies on books . My faculty includes Farah Usman mam , Ashutosh sir and other who were very helpful and professional. The semester examination are held in the month of last of October and second term held from mid of April. The paper is always moderate except papers of discreate mathematics , DSA , OOP'S but marking scheme is very tough.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes i have got the internship in the Oasis Infobyte in the January month for the period of 3 months as application developer. It was no paid internship and i have got the certificate of intern at Oasis Infobyte . The first project assigned to me was to develop a landing page and after that i was assigned to develop a application which manages defected and unused product of x named company . Basically my work was in development and database of the company table.
Placement Experience :
Talking about placements , no company visited for placement in our campus. We have to apply off campus placement as i have applied . Nearly 80% batchmates opt for MCA Program and rest tries for government exams and off campus placement. My plan was to work in It Industry and i have applied off campus into a WIPRO WILP program and got selected and now i am working as a application trainee under WILP program.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for BCA course which we paid was total of 52000 in which 48000 was for academic and 4000 was caution money which get refunded in 3rd year . Now from session 2024-25 the fee structure have been changed and total of 72000 is been in which 68000 is academic yearly fee and 4000 is refundable .There isn't any other amount to be paid during whole course period as total fee covers all expenses like registration fee, admission fee , etc. The fee structure is same for every category student. There is scholarship provided named UP SCHOLARSHIP whose amount vary category to category like general students gets 41000 , OBC gets 47000 and SC/ST gets 51000.
Campus Life :
Once you have entered University Of Allahabad forgot about campus life though there are few things to enjoy like there is park in science faculty, gym , volleyball court, etc. . Their isn't any fest organised in the campus except one happened in last year named ALUMNI MEET where students were not allowed to attend. The infrastructure of the campus is great especially FCI building and Pravesh Bhawan . Every classrooms of IPS building is ventilated and rest buildings classes have fans only. Their is huge Central library where nearly every book is available and id card is required to enter the library and making of card costs 120 RS and fine 10 RS per month for late submission of books. Their is University Level sports competition organised every year in the month of May and trails starts from February and winners gets exposure to winning amount and chance to represent at state level. Their isn't any official social group ,clubs . Their is official website named University of Allahabad.
Hostel Facilities :
I haven't got the hostel as their is a rule that permanent home should be 40 km away from the campus to fill the option for hostel and mine was just 10km away . Though my friends have taken hostel and from their experience i can tell that mess food is not of very good quality and their is remain shortage of food . The registration of hostel is done while filling the form of entrance examination , there comes a option of selecting whether you wants to opt for hostel fulfilling the condition. The positive point of hostel is that it is very affordable considering the rates of PG and rooms of area close to university. The locality which is very close to university is Salori and Chota Baghara which very much crowded and the sizes of the room available are nearly equal to the size of bathrooms and that rooms costs around 2500-3000 excluding light bill . The best place to rent a room is George Town which is nearly 3km away from campus but is little bit costly.

They were no campus place name because I opted for humanity degree and humanities degree comes with no direct placement after UG and it acquires greater and highest studies so right now I am doing my post graduation and the emploibility is very low

The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
