An honest review of TIT
Likes
- The food from our canteen is what I love the most . Students from nearby colleges and institutions come to our canteen everyday.
- The people (like 50% of them) , a lot of them are actually pretty friendly and are helpful peers , you can get a sense of unity in every branch .
- Affordability of the tuition fees and other fees included.
Dislikes
- The people again (rest 50%) , you might find some stubborn people here and there and all I can say is choose your peers wisely .
- Almost no social life is present in the institute, so forget about social life if you're coming here .
- Very less innovative atmosphere for people with a growth mindset . But I'd say slowly and steadily things are definitely improving.
Remarks :
Honestly speaking, I had no other option other than this institution. So I had to go with it . Method of entry : Entrance exam (TJEE) for B.tech aspirants and DEEET for Diploma aspirants. Open only to residents of Tripura . The cut-off is pretty low , even if you scored a 1 out of 100 on a paper among the PCM subjects, you can easily get admission (happened in my case) . If you get selected during the counseling round , you just have to visit the college and verify your documents and pay the required amount (Rs. 8000) , rest you'll be informed by the authority through WhatsApp group. Under the TJEE the best government engineering college choice is TIT , the degree has value to it although the college atmosphere and campus might not suit your tastes . The academics are average but not that bad , I believe that the progress and success of a student isn't defined by the institution but themselves. Students here mostly focus on giving banking exam or GATE . Rest is what you make of it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Electrical engineering is the least of my favorites, I wanted to get in the CS branch . I could only afford to get the electrical branch . The faculty is mostly strict in our branch but most are qualified professionals who have completed their ph.d . The electronics branch and computer science branch have lesser strict faculties as compared to ours . Same goes for Civil , don't really know about Mechanical. Covid was a major factor in delaying the exams and other class scheduling during the first year since 2 years but eventually by the end of 2nd semester, everything goes according to the academic calendar. Exams aren't that difficult, you just need to study and attend the classes properly. Don't procrastinate! Most professors are very knowledgeable but few might make you question, don't worry about that you can always ask for extra classes to the professors and they'll help you out in a heartbeat .

Placement Experience :
Companies usually prefer students who have 8.0 cgpa and above and are good communicators . Prominent Companies visited in last 3-4 years : Infosys , Capgemini, TripuraInfo , Pran , JBM and others. Highest package received: 5 lpa Average package: 2 lpa %students getting placed is unknown since the institute's Training and placement cell doesn't really publicise the list . Very few students sit for placements since most are aiming for government exams . I , personally have no intention to make use of this degree because I am a dual degree student , studying a distant course from a reputed institute on Data Science and Applications, for 4-6 years of curriculum. I'll be trying to get a job in the private sector where I can merge my electrical engineering and data science knowledge.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee structure: 1st year of B.tech - Rs 7210(Same fees for all the branches of b.tech , i.e , Electrical, Civil , Computer science, Electronics and Mechanical) 2nd to 4th year of b.tech - Rs 8160 per year Fees to be paid at the time of admission: Rs 8000 The institute charges fees per semester, a fee of Rs 1010(+200 for attendance below 80%) is also included in the fee structure which is paid separately just before the end semester examinations . Scholarship: No such institutional scholarship but you can apply for government funded or private funded scholarships like NSP , which is supported here . In every branch , at the end of the even semester, the top 3 students are awarded with cash prize by the authority. Note that there are no hostel facilities available or transport facilities available from the college . The food expense , travel and accommodation expense are all separate from the fee structure.
Campus Life :
We have two major fests , Techfest (month of October ) and Cultural fest (month of January). Both the fests are really enjoyable but please don't expect NIT or some other private university level of fun . No DJ nights or inviting students from other institutions . Also , no freshers lol! Social life is kinda dead as compared to other universities but nevertheless you come here for the academics. Library facility is good, you can borrow books at the start of your semester and return it at the end of the semester. The books are outdated though. We have a cultural club and a training and placement club , there's no general student club sadly, as I said social life is sort of dead here. The classrooms have smart boards with projector facilities and a normal board , enough accommodation for a strength of 70 . This university has a Drone Technology Center and an AICTE Lab and a 5G lab(under construction) , people from schools and colleges are open to apply in here. This is our USP .
Hostel Facilities :
The food at the canteen is really good usually, there might be some days when you might fight overcooked/undercooked food , oily food , just let the staff know the issue and they'll probably make you another one , they're very cooperative. Accomodation is an issue for people who aren't from the capital city Agartala, there are no hostels or dorm facilities, you need to stay on rent around the college campus , i.e, Narsingarh , plenty of places are available where other students live as well , I personally don't have this accomodation issue since I'm from main town but I have lot of friends who stay on rent , heard that the rent is quite low and there are markets nearby , easy access to the markets .

Course is according to the UGC guidelines and faculties are also very well renowned and qualified they are very helpful and always keep on updating us with newer sports science concepts everyday and they also are very well sports trainer so if anyone wants to learn new and different sports apart from their specialization they can learn the other sports too

The eligibility criteria for good placement is you have to score more than 7.5 cgpa, the visited recruiters are high, the highest package offered is 15 lpa, and average package is 5 lpa, the percentage of students getting placed in this course is 95%, my plans after getting the degree is to become a judge

The eligibilty for sitting ain placement and internships are different for different organisation. but in brief you can say you must have to have a cgpa of 7.5 and must not have any back logs as many company wont allow students with backlogs. almost 90% of eligible students get placed.
Undiscovered NIT - NIT Agartala
Course Curriculum Overview :
Syllabus is still based on those old curriculum like who studies engineering drawing on paper ,this needs to be improvised . Faculties are quite good especially other state faculties. Fees is quite decent,you also get fee waiver depending on your financial situation.
Must Go through it then apply.
Placement Experience :
Students of 3 rd and final year are allowed to sit in placement and interview round. Highest package be like of cse around 58 lakh Average 12 lakh 80 percentage of student almost get placed . I will move towards tech field after getting my degree.

Placement stats of my college is also very good. It's starts from 4th year. The highest package offer here was 62 lpa last year from cse department. The average package of my college is 12lpa. More tha 85 percent of students are placed every year. Most reputed organization like tata , oracle, phonepay, nokia came in my college for placement.

Placement are quite here the average package of cse is 15.3 and you have to maintain good academic record for placement , around 600 offers were made last year ,also overall placement percent of college in b tech is 77 percent

As for now I am 1st year student and I literally don't have any idea about the placement thing but I asked the seniors about this thing and the answer is very negative, After completing course like B-TECH they hardly get a placement offer of 1.5 to 2 lakh peranm. Think about BCA now

In this course most of the students opt for higher studies. From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. There are so many companies visiting here like Google , Indian oil , IBM , Tata etc. But they mostly focus Btech Students. I am interested to do Phd after completing this course.
