FACTORS THAT MADE ME CHOOSE HBTU 1.The University has strong reputation in academic excellence 2.It has an impressive placement record 3.The strong alumni network ADMISSION PROCESS The admission process at HBTU involves an entrance exam called JEE Mains. Admission id based on JEE Mains scores for Btech course . Students who have passed 12th class with an atleast 55% aggregate in PCM are eligible to apply. I appeared for JEE Mains exam .the cutoff for my program was 90 percentile. After the , hbtu has its own counselling and the last step involves document verification. PREPARATION FOR ADMISSION ROUNDS I studied constantly using an online course that i bought (Physics Wallah) , NCERT books and mock tests. GOOD ASPECTS OF HBTU 1. Placements : Over 95 % placement rates with top recruiters like Bajaj , Honda etc. 2. Facilities : its includes labs , Wi-Fi -enabled Campus , sports facilities , Fests . BAD ASPECTS OF HBTU 1. High fees 2. Infrastructure is average but not the best
Course Curriculum Overview :
WHY I CHOSE THIS COURSE I chose Btech in Mechanical engineering due to my interest. The growing demand for skilled professionals in software and development and AI also influenced my decision. FACULTY QUALIFICATIONS AND TEACHING METHODS The faculty comprise experienced professors with Phds from reputed institutions like IITs . While some professors are highly approachable , some rely heavily on lecture with limited practical knowledge. Faculty is not the very best. TERM EXAMS AND DIFFICULTY LEVEL Exam are conducted mostly on time. Each semester consists of two mid-semester exams and one main even or odd end semester exam at the end f the semester . Mid-semester exams are of 15 marks each while end-semester exam is of 50 marks , and the remaining 20 marks are internal which are given by faculty on the bases of attendance , assignments, practical files etc. The difficulty level is moderate to high .
Internships Opportunities :
While I have not opted for any internship till now yet HBTU offers numerous opportunities through its Training and Placement Cell TPC. which collaborates with reputed companies to provide hands on industry exposure. TOP COMPANIES THAT OFFERED PAID INTERNSHIP are L'Oreal , jubilant ingrevia , bajaj , exxonMobil , reliance , etc Stipend varies based on the role and company typically between 10,000/- to 45,000/- per month .
Placement Experience :
HBTU KANPUR offers excellent placement opportunities with a dedicated placement cell for assisting students. Over the year university has achieved an impressive placement record across various fields. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA *Minimum 6+ CGPA throughout academics *No active backlogs at the time of placement. *internship certificate PLACEMENT RATE: 95% eligible candidates are placed. I am pursuing a Btech program from at Harcourt Butler Technical University , Kanpur , admitted under the SC category (although there is not any differences in fees according to individual's category). Below is the detailed fee structure : 1. Tution fee : Rs. 75,000/- 2. University Examination Fee : Rs. 7,000/- 3. University Development Fee : Rs. 14,000/- 4. Student Welfare Fund : Rs. 500/- 5. Alumni Membership Fee : Rs. 1500/- 6. University miscellaneous fee : Rs. 35,500/- 7. Medical insurance premium : Rs. 1,500/- TOTAL YEARLY FEE : Rs 1,35,000/- For 4 year course , the total cost is approximately Rs. 5,40,000/- . HOSTEL DETAILS The hostel at HBTU KANPUR provides decent accommodation and mess facilities MESS DETAILS The hostel mess serves breakfast , lunch , evening snacks , and dinner daily. The weekly menu rotates and includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian For instance: *Breakfast: bread butter jam , pav bhaji, sandwich , boiled eggs , sprouts , poha , fruits , tea, coffee, milk etc *Lunch: Roti , sabji, dal, rice, salad, etc *Dinner: roti, ,sabji, dal, salad, kheer, halwa , sweets etc The food quality is hygienic and taste is good. INFRASTUCTURE The hostel offers single , double, and triple -sharing rooms equipped with beds , study table , almirah , ceiling fans . storage racks, chair. Additional facilities include WI-FI , common room with indoor games , gym , laundry services. The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical and practical knowledge which helps to build a strong foundation for a subject like biomedical. I always had interest in human health and diseases which is why I chose this course. Faculties are always willing to clear doubts as they are well qualified in there particular domain. And overall I feel the course provides a good academic environment for students. there is a academic calendar provided which gets updated time to time and exam are conducted according to this calendar only.

Campus placements start from the 7th semester for students, once the University criteria is fulfilled. As B. Tech Biotechnology is a newly introduced course, there is no Branch wise Placement data available for B.Tech Biotechnology as of now but the university does attract companies like Nestlé, Yakult, Dabur, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, HCLTech, and so on. The university stated the overall highest package was 60 LPA and the average placement was around 5.4 LPA. My ambition is to pursue a career in Biotechnology in R&D or QA/QC or Biopharmaceutical industry after graduation and enhance my technical knowledge.
