The huge infrastructure and the detailed course with all the important modules needed for creating a base in designing is what made me choose this college. We have to face 2 steps for admission in UID first is the online design aptitude test and then the interview round along with the creative ability test where we are given a set of materials with 3 topics- here we need to choose a topic and make a small model or mockup depicting the given topic.
The course curriculum is well structured covering both theoretical and practical subjects. We get weekly assignments and projects that are related to the course we take teaching us new skills such as material handling or digital skills such as AutoCAD, Blender, etc. The faculty members are highly qualified with phds in their fields. Their teaching methods are very engaging with interactive teaching methods and proper discussions about the particular module. Exams are taken every 3 months with mid sem’s being comparatively easy where our own faculty judge our work and tell us what to work on and the final sem exam that takes place at the end of each academic year where the jurers who examine our work our both from our college and from external colleges for a fair review.
I will be opting for an internship in the coming summer break. This is for the apprenticeship module of our course where we have to learn a good skill set such as digital sketching, modelling or prototyping, etc. it might be a factory where u learn about the industry or learn AutoCAD or other software’s. I still have a rough idea about interior design and furniture design both being very interesting designing areas.
The college gives us internship Opportunities after our 3rd year of college during our summer break. And after the 4th year that is the last year of college according to our certificates and skillsets we might get good job Opportunities. UID does have good connects with people in the industry but the students should be ready to submit all their projects on time and be very dedicated with their work. Designers are in high demand nowadays and our job is creative as well as has high income jobs, be it a graphic designer or a product designer.
2,75,000(per sem)-5,50,000 yearly for B.Des(Hons.). The tuition frees is increasing on a yearly basis. We also have to give the college an addition of ?5000 for the activity fees for all the events that take place in our college.
The campus life is pretty vibrant and happening especially December to March is the period when we have the most events. Which includes VIAJE, ADW, and all other design exhibitions from every department. The classrooms are spacious and the workshops are well equipped. There are clubs for singers , dances and poets and for theatre in our campus Keeping the kids busy. The overall infrastructure of the campus is also very environmentally friendly, huge. We are grateful to be in such a beautiful college.
There are hostels H1-H7 inside the campus which are the girls hostel and the ones in the extended campus which are for both boys and girls H8-H10. The other hostel is 8kms away from college called United Homes which is a building with 10 floors in kudasan Pramukh Anand orbit mall which is a really good area. The mess food is average and we get 4 meals a day with breakfast and hi-tea being the best. I’ve staying in booth hostels in and outside the campus Both being safe and clean for the students.

All the faculties in the teaching staff are well qualified and give really good guidance for the curriculum and practical knowledge for each and every subject. The faculties also encourage participation in various extra curricular activities to enhance social networking and other skills.
