Likes
- Everything is good. Facilities are good in their jobs. Need some development in infrastructure but they are into it already.
- They used to conduct events like Varnam which has both technical and non technical events.
Dislikes
- The cafeteria definitely need a glow up! It's not good. They have to refurbish it.
- The auditorium need some upgrade too. It's good but still need some few good upgrades.
Remarks :
This college offers better coaching than any other in the surroundings. Very famous around here. Also the fees are reasonable. I'm a government quota student and i got seat in it with 73.2% marks in board. It's better to join via government counseling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Course is good and the faculty are good too. They offer better help. The curriculum is kinda easy if you are strong in basics and logical thinking. For the first two semester, you'll learn all the basic subjects and in 2nd semester, you'll have 1 course subject. It's kinda easy too.

Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) offers various internship opportunities to enhance students' practical skills and industry exposure. The college collaborates with numerous companies across different engineering disciplines to facilitate internships. Internship Statistics: 2019-2023 Batch: Two students from the Electronics & Communication Engineering department interned at Ford Motors in Chennai. 2018-2022 Batch: The Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering department achieved a 100% internship rate, with all 37 students securing internships. Information Technology Department: The 2019-2023 batch saw 95 students undertake internships, with 33 receiving stipends. Prominent recruiters included Zoho Corporation Pvt. Ltd., Infosys Ltd., IBM Pvt. Ltd., and Gofrugal Pvt. Ltd. Virtual Internship Programs: MCET has partnered with Open Weaver to offer a Virtual Internship Program.
Placement Experience :
Placements are good. They help you find internships. I'm currently in 2nd year of my course. I don't have a good idea about the placement and internship. But I'm sure they help you place in a company.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees varies from department to department. If you are a first graduate, then you may get upto ?25000 discount only if you have the proper certificate. They also provide AVS scholarship for student who secured morethan 85% in their board. If you got the AVS scholarship, all your tuition fees will be taken care by the college. They provide BC/MBC scholarships. Scholarship are same for all departments. But the fees structure varies. For the first two semester, they will provide books. There's alot of other scholarships too.
Campus Life :
Its a green campus. You find alot of plants and trees here. The infrastructure is not super looking but good. Clubs are soo good. You get half day every Saturday for club activities and also they provide OD if you are participating in events and so. But not a great fan of cafeteria. They are building a new one soon. So it will be better than the old ones.

Placements are given in high reputed companies, even companies like Microsoft, IOS, intel are also collaborated with the college. And for animation they provide placement in" Toonz Animation, Techno park, Thiruvananthapuram.

Placement Experience :
Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

Placement Experience :
The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
