Likes
- The classes are all air-conditioned along with smart classrooms.
- The sports facilities are excellent. They are well maintained.
Dislikes
- Some of the faculty is strict for no reason and do not listen to you.
- The fee is a bit high along with the hostel fees.
Remarks :
SRM is a college which provides an ocean of opportunities to its students. With hundreds of college clubs to cultural and sports activities that span the whole year. SRM also provides exposure to students since students from all over the country and even from abroad study here. The campus experience is indeed worth it. The admission is based on an entrance test the SRMJEE which covers Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Way easier than the JEE examination. Anyone who has gone for entrance coaching or done their 12th properly can easily crack the exam.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course Curriculum is upto date following the 2021 regulations. Most of the faculty is also well versed in their subjects with PhDs in their respective fields. I chose ECE due to its increasing demand and predicted boom in the future. The teaching method is just okay and all the study materials are digital. Exams are conducted every month. Cyclic Tests determine your internals which total upto 60 marks of your final grade. The remaining 40 marks is taken from your end semester exams which is on 75 which is then converted to 40 marks.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are compulsory from the third year onwards. So far I have not sat for any internships yet as Im only in my second year. The college also offers internships during the summer. You can opt for one outside as well which is better
Placement Experience :
You need to maintain a cgpa of at least 8 to sit for placements. A few of the recruiters that do come include amazon, wipro, FormaAi, PwC, KPMG. The highest package offered in 2024 is 52lpa and the average stands at 7lpa. Some of the students seek higher education after completing the degree or go outside the campus for job interviews.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year-wise for B.Tech in Electronics and Communication engineering is around 2.5lakhs for me. Each year it goes up by an amount of roughly 10-20k. There are plenty of scholarships available, provided by the university itself. Ranging from academic scholarships based on your 12th score, SRMJEE entrance test scores, academic excellence in class(maintaining 9cgpa), also a defence scholarship.
Campus Life :
The social life on campus is amazing. You can meet people from all over the country. The exposure is really good. The college also offers a large number of clubs and also promotes startup culture. The library is amazing spanning 4 floors of the university building and is indeed one of the largest. The campus has a gym facility along with 3 basketball courts, an indoor badminton facility, a 400m athletic track and an olympic sized swimming pool. There are plenty of sports competitions on campus varying from Hostel games to an SRM Premier league.
Hostel Facilities :
I was in the hostel for my first year and the experience wasnt that great. Met a lot of people but that is the only plus point. The hostels are ridiculously overpriced. The mess food was bland and was not worth it at all. The flats and rooms outside and nearby to campus provide a better experience overall and a lot of students move out of the hostel after first year.

Placements are given in high reputed companies, even companies like Microsoft, IOS, intel are also collaborated with the college. And for animation they provide placement in" Toonz Animation, Techno park, Thiruvananthapuram.

Not bad placement trainings and good faculty members to train for placements . Good companies with good packages come for placement drives who select the best of all and give placements for them. Good placements.

Placement Experience :
Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

Placement Experience :
The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The faculty of this college is good there are strick and the curriculum are good and every one in the college will face 2 test before the main exam internal test one and internal test 2 are the two test and practical will be taken place a side

The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
