NERIST college everything you need to know
Remarks :
i get to know about this college from one of my elder brother who was also a student here. there are entrance exams held by college to get admission here , NEE 1 after your 10th board, NEE 2 after your 12th board, and NEE 3 for students who passed diploma from other college,. Cut off to take admission is like you have to be top 20 among all the students who appeared from same state, if not you will be in waiting list according to marks you obtained in exam, later if someone doesnt take admission then you will be given chance for counselling as per serial order. i came here at NERIST after my 10th through NEE 1 . i didn't prepared anything separately for the entrance .
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose ECE , as i was very much fascinated about broadcast media, network services from very young age like how something happening right at other corner of world is visible right in front of my eyes, like how someone speaking very far way from me is audible to me at the right instant, even like i wanted to know how fax works everything from scratch. that's why i took this course. Professors here are well qualified most of them are Masters or Ph.D qualified from well IIT's and some from their respective NIT's. term exams happen twicely per semester and difficulty isnt that much since question paper usually consists whats being taught in class
Internships Opportunities :
I was a summer intern in BSNL Agartala and Summer Intern In All India Radio. i did my summer internship at BSNL back in 2023 where as i did my summer internship at all India radio back in july 2026 due to my course curriculum.
Placement Experience :
eligibility for campus placements is that during placements at maximum you can have 1 backlogs and you must be from final year. previous recruiters include TATA Projects, Vedanta, IOCL, Infosys, Reliance, DataTech , Exigar etc. Highest package was offered by Infosys of 21 lakhs and average package is of 6 lakhs. Department wise placements varies with electrical and computer science students securing high percentage placements of placements around 68% whereas agricultural students being lowest around 23%. I plan to join Indian AIr Force after my graduation.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
the fee structure consists of various academic , examination, laboratory, student welfare, infrastructure ,and campus related charges. it is usually around the range of 8000 to 12000 in case of student pursuing B.Tech , excluding the separate mess advance that ranges between 16000 to 20000. semester fees is around 5000, examination fee is around 1100, grade card fee is around 250, lab fees is around 1000, library charges is around 500, internte and computer charges is around 700, automation fees is around 550. Separately establishment charges is around 770, electricity and water charges is around 400, gymkhana charges is around 500. medical insurance costs around 270, medical examination charges is around 160, students welfare fund is around 140, extra curricular activities charges around 580. and every year there is a hike of 7% to subtotal fees.
Campus Life :
Annual sports namely SYNERGY happens around February, Annual culture fest namely RACAF happens around November, Annual tech fest happens around April. other than that department freshers, farewell, union freshers , general fresher meets, hostel freshers , farewell takes place throughout the year. Nerist central library hold all the books and journals from where students can issue at max 7 books per semester, Library has around 70000 books as per record. groups like running club, cycling club, hobby club, music club, dance clubs , drama club, photography and videography clubs are all run by students themselves
Hostel Facilities :
food quality here is trash to be honest , for breakfast variety includes puri, sabji , fried rice, khichri, bread and samosa along with red tea or milk tea . and only one option is available for each day and it rotates every weak for lunch mashed potato or dry fish curry and dal along with steam rice and dal. for dinner they provide non veg along with dal for 4 days a week and 3 days egg. food quality and quantity is trash in every hostel. here in nerist its full time residence once you opt in u will need to stay here at hostel
