Short on IIT Goa
Likes
- Infrastructure is very good, the housekeeping people are also trustful
- Campus life is quite enjoyable even with the limited amount of people we have
Dislikes
- Lack of permanent campus is a major draw back
- The campus is not in a far away place from city but still it doesn’t have a surrounding that we can rely on any urgent needs or any restaurants etc
Remarks :
This college is a temporary campus, and has low strength. Having low strength is advantage in some ways, as we can get more chance in sports and other activities. To get admission one must attempt the JEE Advanced exam and can apply through the josaa counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have interest in math and during the seat allocation I selected this course because I would get to do both math and Computing here. Scholarship without any reservation is a myth in IIT Goa. Academics is well established and the curriculum is strictly followed. The faculty is good and the student teacher ratio is also very good.
Internships Opportunities :
No I didn’t opt for any internship till now, because I’m still studying my 2nd year of BYech here and internships are done in the 7th semester. Even though any student doesn’t get selected for an internship outside the college. The college provides them with a BTP with equal value of credits.
Placement Experience :
To get placements in a good company one must have 7.5CPI. Also people with 6.5CPI get fair enough interviews. But people below 5CPI have very low chances of getting a job Placements and job opportunities are high, but due to recession no big placements were made. The faculty will support us very well in that time.
Campus Life :
The fest of iit Goa is Cultrag cultural and Cepheus technical. They will be conducted in March and February annually. We have a library and it provides the required books for the courses. Most of the sports are available such as cricket, basket ball, football, volley ball, badminton, table tennis, tennis,etc. Meraki club is for dance, orion is for music. I’m in originals the photography club of IIT Goa, there are many more clubs. Food quality is ok, not the best, menu has very less items. Every morning there is egg, chicken 2 times a week which is also very bad. Even for PG college will provide a hostel. I’m in Btech
