Remarks :

Expert Faculties, ample opportunities for practical knowledge and improved presentation skills.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It was a two-year course. The first year was a general one comprising modules of Finance, HR, Marketing, Production, IT, Statistics, and Business Communication. In the second year, we had to select an elective. I opted for HR and studied subjects like Compensation & Benefits, International HRM, Organizational Development, and Industrial Relations. Most of the faculties were doing their research or had a sound industrial experience so it was a highly engaging study experience. The student-faculty ratio was on the higher side roughly around 50:1. The exams were always on schedule. The final exams were always in December and April. Just before them, we had college exams. They weren't very difficult to crack but not a cakewalk either.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, I did the internship between the first and second years at Dhruv Corporate HR Solutions. I got the internship option from the college only. It was a two-month training where I completed a project, 'Perception of HR towards assessment tools and outsourcing of HR activities.' My assignment captured four aspects - Perception of HR towards outsourcing of HR activities Different modes of hiring adopted by different companies Opinion of HR about temporary hiring Perception of HR towards the assessment tools viz. Graphology and Psychometric Tests.

Placement Experience :

There is no eligibility for certain semesters to be completed to sit for campus placements. Ideally, if a student completed the first year of Master's successfully he or she could sit for the placements. The companies that visited IL&FS, Wagh Bakri and the highest package offered was 35000 per month. Due to slow down only a countable few got placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee was 37500 INR per year. Besides we were taken a library deposit of 1,000 that was provided back to us after two years. No scholarship was offered. Financial Assistance wasn't offered. Due to the economic slowdown on-campus representation of companies was very limited.

Campus Life :

Our classes were from 9 am to 3 pm. After that often we used to sit in computer labs for our project research, and presentation work. Besides, we had a good spacious campus where we could sit, discuss, talk and even have leisure time after classes. In February every year, we had an inter-college festival called 'Crest.' There were different types of business games, quizzes, and fashion shows and winners were handed over certificates and trophies. Besides we had intra-college sports competitions. We had both indoor and outdoor games like cricket, football, chess, and carrom. Infrastructure The college was equipped with wi-fi facilities. Speaking of the library we had a two-floor extensive well-stocked library. There were no clubs or social groups.

Hostel Facilities :

I didn't have any hostel facility as I stayed in the same town.

Interview Experience :

Yes, I had appeared for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET). It was an MCQ-based test with 1 mark for every right answer and -0.25 for every wrong answer. Then I appeared for a group discussion and interview. I took coaching for the entrance, GD and interview preparation. At that time the whole process of GCET was taken roughly by 30,000 students. I secured the 405th rank. The topics of GD ranged from political to current affairs. Some of the topics were Is first impression the last impression? Is the evolving field of education, and technology a blessing or a curse, how emergence of orkut (in 2006) has changed or impacted our lives?
