SRM University Sonepat Haryana From a Students Point Of View

- 1) Most of the faculty are well qualified and make the subject feel quite easy to learn , fun and interactive. 2)The infrastructure is quite good with smart classrooms and labs .
- 3)The campus life is great with flash mobs held every other week. 4)Several workshops and Hackathons make student life more exciting and makes learning easy .
Dislikes
- 1)The seating in classrooms get quite uncomfortable over a long period of time . 2)Some projectors in the classroom do not have the remote controls and need to be switched on by literally climbing onto the tables.
- 3)The labs contain some computers which are really slow and make working on them tough for the students. 4)The workshops at times get cancelled at the very last moment and students are stranded due to the very strict 75% attendance policy.
Remarks :
The College provides Transport Services throughout Delhi, Haryana, and Nearby areas in Uttar Pradesh like Ghaziabad, Baghpat etc. The college is under the Brand Name SRM which was a major reason I was convinced to choose it. The admission process is quite simple you have to appear for Either of the 2 exams that are SRMHCAT ( Particularly for SRM University Sonepat ) or SRMJEEE. The preparations are quite similar to JEE and other entrance exams. The negatives about the college would be that It is very far from the main highway, the Transport facilities to nearby areas are quite tough to find, and The canteen areas are quite small for the whopping 2k + student population. The college doesn't provide shuttle services to nearby metro stations which gets quite tough for the students as they'll have to pay 800-900 rs. if they want to get home early on a free day.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have always been interested in coding-related subjects and thus it was a major factor in choosing this course, The faculty is well qualified and mostly teaches using presentations and verbal methods dictating notes asking questions, and implementing real-life examples for better understanding. The exams are held every second and third month of the semester as mid-semester tests (MST) for 50 marks each which hold 20% weightage in the overall subject followed by Practical Exams and End Semester Exams in the 5th month of the semester. The difficulty level is quite simple as most of the test is based on the notes provided by the teachers. There is no fee hike policy however alongside the tuition fee students need to pay 16 thousand per year for extracurriculars followed by a 6-8 thousand exam fee per semester. I was awarded the Chancellor Scholarship of 25% for 80% marks in class 12th. There are various other scholarships available based on your rank and marks in SRMHCAT, JEE, etc.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities are quite low in the university with workshops held for student awareness during the Second year, followed by a summer internship post the even semesters. The companies do not visit the university for internships it's totally up to the students, Also the stipend is again up to the students with most of them being for free.
Placement Experience :
The placements are considered to be quite good with a large number of mass recruiters coming in every year as well, The eligibility is dependent on the company with a majority of them focusing on the students with a CGPA above at least 6 throughout the course. A few visited recruiters are lava, Brytecam, Intellipat, Oppo, etc with 2024+ offers made, Brytecam had the highest offered package at 30LPA, Lava at 26.8 LPA, Intellipat at 9 LPA and Oppo at 6 LPA. The overall average package was 4 LPA . 95% of the students were placed every year. I plan to prepare for MBA entrance after my degree.
Campus Life :
The fest at SRM University Sonepat Haryana is called PRISMA, it is generally conducted every year in March with artists from different genres, It is a 2-day event with various competitions and a concert to call the event off. The library has a huge collection of books ranging from study-related books and even some novels, The classrooms have smart screens, speakers, and a well-lit seating area which makes studying more fun and interactive. There are several sports-related clubs in the college alongside an annual sports meet held every year in November called Samavesh. Alongside sports, various clubs are functioned by the students themselves for various activities like Panache for Dance, Tarang for Music, Meraki for Verbal, Aabhas for drama, etc. Alongside hostels, the nearby areas are flooded with PGs and rentable flats with localities like TDI Lake Grove Appartments, TDI Kingsbury, etc.

The Career Development Centre (CDC) plays an important role in preparing students for internships and future placements. The CDC conducts career guidance sessions, skill development workshops, resume-building activities, aptitude training, and interview preparation programs to improve students' employability. One initiative that I personally found beneficial was the Internship Fair organized by the university. It provided students with an opportunity to interact with different organizations and apply for summer internships, helping us gain practical industry exposure before entering the final placement season. KRMU provides placement assistance through its Training and placement cell, which conducts aptitude training, mock interview, resume building sessions and skill development session to improve students employability. Student become eligible for campus placement in the final year subject meeting the criteria of the individual company. Eligible criteria include maintaining the CGPA, having limited or no active backlog, and fulfilling company specific criteria.
A Growing University with Good Facilities and Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements are decent for skilled students with eligibility usually starting in the final year . Companies like TCS , Infosys ,BHEL visit the campus . The average package is around 4-6b LPA . After completing my B-tech degree , I plan to pursue a career in software development

Aroun 6.5-8 cgpa should be maintained to avail for placement. No backlogs. Respect teachers. Fee visited recruiters were ICICI ey pwc etc highest packaging where I heard about was 56LPA and average was around 9-12LPA.

Curriculum was very much reasonable and it was very much easy to understand it also had division of management studies and computer studies which made it very much easier for me to understand the faculty was amazing and very helpful
