- The location of the college is one main advantage, with no disturbance. Also the academics and the faculties in the college are good and very friendly.
- There will be a good junior and senior bonding found in the college with no partialities.
Dislikes
- being a architectural college there is no great infrastructure in the college.
- Also the management is quite rude when there is any slight delay to pay fees.
Remarks :
Firstly one should have passed the NATA exam or JEE mains, since these are the qualification exams to get admission in this college or most of the architectural colleges. Also, the student must have a minimum of 50% overall in each of the main subjects like maths, physics, and chemistry. Students that are from other states other than Tamil Nadu can apply through management quota and students from the same state can either apply in MQ or GQ. The admission process is quite simple, once we apply the other processes are taken care of and there are no interviews NATA scores are enough.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Architecture is a creative field and the student must be good at rough sketching at least. The course is a five-year course with a total of 10 semesters. Each semester will have a different design brief, according to which the students will design their buildings/ projects. On the whole, each semester will be different, interesting, and also challenging. For those who are ready to spend sleepless nights, this course won't be much of a chaos. Each semester has 90 working days and 75% attendance is compulsory. Though the management is quite strict in collecting fees and other, other than that the college is pretty good with a peaceful environment surrounded with lush green tea estates. Other than fees, there will be expenses to buy stationery and for taking prints, which is quite costly since it is required for every semester(print expense: Rs.3000 min). Also, I got a First graduate scholarship, in which 25,000 will be deducted from tuition fees, so I paid only 72,500 each semester for tuition fees.
Internships Opportunities :
There is a semester for doing an internship in any part of India. The minimum Stipend is 5000 but a few architectural firms don't pay any stipend to the interns. The highest stipend is 12,000. I did my internship at Red Brick Studio in Pune for 90 working days. My stipend was 5000 per month. The senior architects assign drafting works or make physical models kinda work to the interns.
Placement Experience :
Most of the architecture colleges don't have placements. But McGan's has introduced placement in the year 2024 only. But it is always better when the student individually searches for their preferred firms that are going with their interest. For a fresher architect in India, the salary ranges from 18,000 to 40,000 minimum. And the increment depends on each firm or studio. But other than architecture, the student with a B.Arch. degree can also pursue a career in the film industry and event management. Having a master's degree with specialization will add more credits and they can also choose professors as their career in universities. I am going to do a master's in project management after a year.
Campus Life :
Since the college is located in an isolated place inside a forest region, there won't be much of daily outings permitted for students in the hostel. On Sundays, there will outing pass provided with time restrictions too. Once a year there will be a sports day and cultural conducted on campus. And permissions will be given to attend another college fest too. The college welcomes other events or festivals conducted by students. Other than that there aren't many club activities, since the students won't have much time to complete their semester work. The hostel fee is 1,21,000 with four people sharing a room. The food is okay okay, not that great, but extra food is available in the cafeteria where we can pay and get food as we wish. Pgs or rented room area available is main town Ooty or Kotagiri, which is 13 to 15 km away from college. But a college bus facility is also available.

Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
